Funny thing happened to me tuesday, i pulled up to a light next to the former co-owner of the shop i used to work at. anyhow, he hadnt seen my new car (max) and all, and we were talkin through the light. then a guy we both knew (former customer of our old shop) pulled up on the other side of me in his 93 Probe GT (last i knew he had intake, exhaust, plugs and wires). so now we had a good opportunity for a little 3-way race. Thats needless to say all parties involved were thinking the same thing... so when the light turned green it was on... the Sube took myself and the probe off the line, my front bumper even with his rear bumper was as far as he got... at about 40 mph i started pulling on the 2.5RS (i had already pulled away from the probe, not sure how much, i was concentrating on the Sube). by 60 his front bumper was about even with my rear, and it got worse for him up to 75 when some train tracks (very bumpy ones at that) ended the race...probe was about even with the sube, about 2-3 lengths back from me. later a 90-93 stock looking accord revs on me on the freeway while i was just cruising home from work.. the sound indicated an intake, but nothing else was visible... needless to say he got ripped a new one... didnt take long. thats all for my tale...

good kills

I don't think that I've ever seen a probe worth racing before.

The newer Probe GT's are kind of quick but nothing to be afraid of. The Subaru is going to take people off the line everytime because of the AWD.

I ran with a Subaru 2.5RS once and yes they are quick off the line, but after 50mph it was over.

I used to have a probe

Last year I had a 1993 Probe GT. I had no mods and it was automatic, with 100,000+ miles on it. One night on my way home, I lined up with a Civic SI. I don't remember if it had mods or not, but I think it was automatic also. We raced and were almost even until about 55-60 when he started pulling on me. I've never raced an SI in my maxima but this has had me wondering what the deal is with the Civic SI being so fast. Maybe the ones people have raced were modded and this one wasn't.

That's just it. It's a cheap car with 160 BHP and I think it comes with strut tower bars and a rear sway bar. It's the fastest stock civic engine yet.

I don't think the Civic SI comes in an automatic, just a 5spd. manual. The newer ones anyway, I don't know about older SI models.
