My rims will be in next week, do I need new schocks, etc.??
Hey, I ordered my rims early this week and am wondering whether or not you guys think i NEED new schocks/springs to make it lower or whatever for it to look good. I'm looking for appearance on this one. Also, i have that chrome trim around my wheel wells.. would you reccomend I take it out? Which looks better w/ the rims. I'm trying to save a couple bucks, so if it'll look good w/out me getting new ****, tell me! This car's setting me back!

I had stock 15-inch rims on my car and then I got some 17-inch rims. The "fendergap" looked much more pronounced with the bigger rims. It was pretty fugly...a big gap between the tire and the fender of the car. I had to fix that! I had Eibachs and Tokicos put in.
Lowering definitely makes the car look better and sportier.
But I lowered my car for another reason as well. The car was feeling very wobbly with the bigger rims. I wasn't happy with how it was handling. So I lowered the car to get a lower center of gravity, which helps in the handling and cornering of the car. I lowered it with the Eibach springs and got new shocks for a firmer ride than my stock shocks.
I think the chrome trim is a matter of preference. Do you like how it looks?
Good luck!

It's definitely not as smooth and I can feel the road (bumps) more. But it's worth the better looks, and improved handling and cornering.
That's how I feel.
