pics of my new headlights... what u think?

oh man, the removal, cutting, installing, weather stripping, splicing, testing, and tool accessory shopping (today was national tool day sale at sears... couldn't resist!) took all day. A friend and I attempted this. ill wash the car and get some daytime pics.... but this is 1AM:

parking w/ city lights

lowbeam silverstars on

I wanted to get better bulbs online, but couldn't wait... ended up getting silverstars and i'm really happy with em. I stuck to standard clear 194 bulbs and got the city lights working. It was tricky to keep my alternating blinker/parking... but finally figured that one out.

What do you guys think?

Another Cefiro Headconversion.. Looks nice. Why dont you put some PIAA super whites for your running lights? They look 100x better than fugly oem 194s.

thanks kev, eddie.

oss- thanks for the advice, i've never really looked into better bulbs for my car before, but this is a good excuse. I'll look into PIAA bulbs.

here's a pic of my friend taking his turn to hack up my car lol

closeup of "fender gap".. used weatherstripping to cover it up. Good thing for superblack paint!

To be honest wit ya, gap isnt THAT bad on a black car. I have asked tons of folks and none has noticed the gap. It depends how good of a weatherstriping you use.

You should try to find some black weatherstrip... It the ideal color (black car) to hide that gap... I couldn't find any beige, lol.

the stripping i bought was that faded looking black color... i took the picture w/ flash so it made it stand out more. other than that, it's not noticable much.

I did buy some touch up paint and went over all the cut edges. I hope I covered it all...

the first side took a very very long time. By the time we went to the other side, we were much more comfortable at cutting and had a good reference on how much we had to cut.

luke- the grill had no problems getting on. Actually, nothing holds it anymore lol. I had some heavy duty velcro so I lined that up at the bottom, and at the top, I have to get some long black zip ties and make it hold.

The only problem now is there's no way, at least without much more modifications, that I can go back to stock lights. Oh well.... at least no more 95/96 foggy headlights! I sorta got lucky too, cuz mother nature decided to start the rain season today.

I took a lot of pictures during the install... i might come out with a write up to compliment the one we already have.

I bought em like that... they're the "smoked cefiro headlights". The chrome ones are OEM, but all the smoked ones out there are aftermarket.

Looks great...I just do not want that gap though. You need to remove that gold emblem and replace it with the stock chrome.

yeah if you guys are going to do bodywoprk to the car to make them fit, it will be a whole lot better. some filler should do the trick.

I would also love to have these headlights on my car, but as great as they look, personally I could not deal with that gap, and a bodyshop would charge so much to fit them on perfectly without gaps.

The headlights look very nice and are different. I have seen a set in person (recently) and the light output isn't that great to me although better than stock. That GAP is one reason not to do this mod as well as all the cutting required...nice job though

You will have to either smash in or grind some of the "edge' area behind the removed bracket... Mine is flush to the fender....

people always complain about cutting the car but they cut the wheel well for a cai. i like this mod cause it gives the car a unique look and shows which people are willing to take that extra step to custimize thier cars... nice lights by the way
