Throttle hang

I own a 95 Maxima. Just about 2 weeks ago, things were ok. For the weekend I went and cleaned my K&N air filter and replaced it once it was washed and cleaned. Then I proceeded to get some gas and headed out on a trip. On the way back, using 93 Octane, the tranny started to react a bit. However, it did not do what normal trannys do. When I accelerate now, the tranny hangs in 1st all way through overdrive. At regular speeds its resonable, but when I get on the highway or accelerate into traffic, it goes to the lower gear and then hangs when it is ready.
I thought about this, could the Knock Sensor have something to do with it?
I took out the filter and changed it back to the regular filter, put some injector cleaner in...<> So...techies, what do you think???

Ok. Well, this just started. I accelerate, 1st gear, normal. 2nd gear abnormal, goes to 2750-3050 hanging in gear then smooths to 3rd, and again the abnormality, then to over drive, and once again, but this time its smooths out.
