CEL, SLIP and TCS OFF ??

These just appeared this morning on my way to work on my 2k Maxima. Checked all the threads and found a TSB (99-078A) but couldn't find out what it means. Don't have an Auto Zone near me. Anyone know what's the cause so I can be informed when I take it to the dealer? Thanks...

everytime ive seen this posted, it turned out to be a bad ignition coil(s). not sure why those particular lights go off but even in 4th gens, it can denote a cylinder misfire. if you dont have an autozone, check other shops, even pepboys. pepboys in my area will pull the code for 15 bucks or you can look into purchasing an obd-2 code reader.

TTT - this just happened to a buddy of mine - he hasn't taken it in to get the codes pulled... he has a 2000 SE... I'll let you know what he finds out.

Usually, when all these lights come on at the same time, 90% of the time is from bad coils. I bet if you pull the code, it will come up P1320. Replace all 6 coils, reset the ECU, and see if it will disappear.

Followup: my buddy just went to autozone - they read P1320 - which is the iginition failure. I was going to help him replace the coils but was wondering if its worthwhile to just identify and replace the bad coil(s) or should I just have him replace all 6 at one go?

i would do all 6 at once. obviously it costs more than doing one but you wont have to take the time to do them later. just remember to use a light coat of high temp dielectric grease on the boot to keep the plugs from sticking later on.
