Anybody dyno'd a 2k-2k1???

I'am looking for some basic numbers with just bolt-ons. I think I will dyno mine in the spring, hoping at lease 195hp to the wheels after the headers.!!!!!

Anyone???

Thanks
Jay

if you post up a mod list and tranny then it would be easier to give you a good idea of what to expect.

I did say bolts-on, it's not like there's a million bolt-on parts for our cars. And tranny, it really don't matter but I'am kinda hoping to see an auto.

do you consider headers bolt on? the reason i asked originally is because different people have different definitions and the tranny plays a large roll in predicting what someone could put down on a dyno.

Headers, yeah. It just a total of 20 bolts. And you're right about the tranny, I just would like to see the dyno graph itself. I thinking about doing a 5-speeds conv.

198 bone stock, 5spd, 15" steel wheels on a dynojet in a 55 deg weather. Depending on the state of you car, and its MAF you could hit around 222-230WHP with headers, exhaust, pulleys, flywheel, upd, CAI.... get a S-AFC or Emanage and you can pick up up to 15WHP in some parts of the powerband.

I don't think I will see numbers that high, auto's suck. I only can wish for a 5-speed. My auto tranny will do for now.

5spds have in the 180s with the 17" wheels, the wheels are REALLY heavy and take away power from the engine to rotate them on the dynojet. Alot of factors come into play when dynoing, big brakes, heavy wheels, calipers draggn, and even aligment CAN offset the HP reading of the vehicle. I seen GXE 5spds stock in the 190s to even one putting down 199WHP stock, due to very light wheels- 15". Problem with Maxima drivers they don't care bout the weight factor, they just want bling. Lets see you got some cheap HP racing wheels for 899 bux for 18" mesh wheels- but they weight like 25lbs each, or 2K dollars for 18" Volk TE37s which weight around 15-17lbs each. Stock 17" Max wheels weight about 25lbs each. Throw in some light weight lug nuts and you could eassy gain 10WHP from just changing to lighter wheels. I noticed a HUGE gain in acceleration when I went from 18s to 16s, and lost bout 24lbs on each wheel in the process. I don't care much for look, but some racing wheels that weight little do look timeless- like TE37s or SSR Competitions.

I'am the same as you when it comes to wheels, in fact I'll be getting the SSR Competitions in 18 x 8.5(Gunmetal). They're only 16.8lbs per rim!!!! I will try to get them used, and hopefully I'll have them by the summer of 05'.

188hp/188tq stock for me. This was with 18 inch wheels. I'll need to switch down to light weight rims soon

Wow I didn't know you guys were dynoing so high. I think the weight difference between 4th and 5th gens is pretty significant because I dynoed 156whp/168wtq stock (1995 5-speed) when I was running 15.0@91-92 mph, which is pretty much what 5th gens do to... I thought the weight difference was only like 150-200 pounds.

150-200 lbs is a LOT weight between two cars. The difference is only significant at upper rpms, the curves look relatively the same (shop talk section dyno battle)

you should see I put down with a broken power valve 160hp/186tq
