Sup guys,

I am in the process of switching over to a new insurance company, and was wondering what kind of experiences everyone has had with different ones. I really want to go somewhere that has low rates... I'm paying 300 a month right now, and desperately need to pay less for insurance.

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Insurance Companies

Whatever you do, don't go with GEICO. They may be cheap, but you get what you pay for. However, $300.00 a month is way too much. I'm with Farmers and mine is 95.00 per month, full coverage w/rental & towing. Good luck.

I'm assuming that you already tried progressive.com???
That's the one where they do a price comparison with all the other insurance co's and quote you the lowest price, even if it's not theirs...

As for me, I've been with State Farm for awhile. I'm paying about $500 for six months ($100 deductible comprehensive/collision). I'm 25, no tickets, and no accidents and live in MD.

I know this is not the cheapest, but my agent has been always helpful plus he gives me all the applicable discounts w/o asking...

yeah... im actually under progressive right now, and went through an asurance company to find the best rates. It's just a big headache having to pay another car payment every month for insurance, but I guess that's what i get for speeding. I've been doing some research on the internet, but I really want to know people's experiences with different companies, so that I choose the right one.

Thanks

I like State Farm a lot. I have 6 or 7 policies with them. They've been great to me.

I'm 22 and have a clean record. I pay ~170/month with allstate. Geico and Progressive wouldn't even touch me.

Allstate runs me about $110/month... I'm 23 and have a good record (no ticks or 'dents -- not counting those in the hood).

I pay $800/yr with 3 tickets with 21st Century out of
California, but they only insure college people with
technical degrees, engineering, etc.
My tickets go away this summer and my insurance will be
~$600/year for full coverage.
I'm 48 which helps I'm sure.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I will be calling different insurance companies tomorrow for quotes. Man, I had just got an online quote and it says $395/month . Un-f*****ing-believable. I ran the system again, but with a 2000 ford escort , and it's $300/month. Man, i think I'm gonna start

Just switched to Progressive. I'm paying about $120 a month total for both the 2K Maxima SE and the 2K Dodge Grand Caravan AWD. Age matters.

I have Liberty Mutual, which I've heard plenty of good thing about. I'm actually registered/insured in NJ even though I'm from NY. I'm 25 (going on 26) and with points (lots) I'm up @ $3000/year($1000 deductible). I took a defensive driving course (whose discount hasn't taken effect yet) and they told me that most insurance companies don't drop prices until the anniversary of your 26th B-Day (BS way of saying 27), so I have another year to go. It would have been $1800 w/ a clean record. I know it sounds like alot but that's actually decent for these parts. Good luck.

If you are military, check out USAA. Excellent rates.

If you have a perfect driving record then go with Geico, or another that insures preferred drivers. You'll get the best deal.

I'm with you on this one. All our cars are with State Farm and although it's probably not the cheapest, the agent does know us pretty well. BTW, I'm paying about $800/yr full coverage with $500 ded.
