I have the following problem(s)
Error codes 03 04; 06 07 and 10 08.
I have the SES light on for a while and i was going to check what that is. The car was running fine (no problem at all). Yesterday, all of a sudden the car started to shake(vibrate) as if it is going to halt but it does not. I check the error codes it says cylinder 2 misfire, Knock sensor and EVAP canister purge volume control valve. With the help of http://vbxmaxima.8m.com/ecu.html website i was able to find the error codes and also change the spark plugs. I have also been reading through the forumn but i cannot follow though since a lot of the terminologies are new to me.

Someone stated the the ignition coil may be bad.(What is that and where can i locate it)

Can someone please help me out. I would appreciate if one can write in a 2nd grader language.

Thanks

So the cylinder is still misfiring after you changed the spark plug?

I have the following problem(s)
Error codes 03 04; 06 07 and 10 08. ...
Diagnostic Trouble Code 0607 is the most serious of these three DTCs. I suggest you work to resolve that one first. For the moment, ignore the others.

... the car started to shake(vibrate) as if it is going to halt but it does not. I check the error codes it says cylinder 2 misfire, Knock sensor and EVAP canister purge volume control valve. ...
The shaking is because cylinder 2 is misfiring. That is the DTC 0607.

You said you already changed the spark plugs. In that case you saw and touched the ignition coils. Go to http://vbxmaxima.8m.com/sparkplug.html Scroll down to step 4, With the bolts removed, pull out the coil. The photo below this line shows a hand holding an ignition coil.

The 4Gen Maxima V6 engine has two banks of three cylinders each. The front bank (left to right, as viewed from the front of the car) is cylinders 2, 4, 6. I suggest you exchange the ignition coils from cylinders 2 and 4. Reset the Service Engine Soon light. Drive the car normally and expect the SES light to come back on. When it does, do another DTC readout. If DTC 0607 is not seen, and DTC 0605 is seen, that means the problem moved from cylinder 2 to cylinder 4. We may deduce that the ignition coil and power transistor assembly (it is all one piece) which is now serving cylinder 4 is bad and must be replaced. If DTC 0607 is still seen, the coil assemblies are good and the problem may be the spark plug or the wiring leading to the ignition coil at cylinder 2.

I switched the ignition coils from cylinder 2 to 4 but i am still getting DTC error 06 07 and 10 08. I had already replaced the spark plugs so i guess it is the wiring. How do i fix that. How do i check the wiring or do i have to replace the wire. It will be very messy if i have to replace the wiring because right now it is so well taped.

Please help!

You are quite right, unwrapping that harness is a difficult and time consuming process. For this reason I suggest you do more diagnostic work before undertaking that daunting task.

1) Exchange the spark plugs in cylinders 2 and 4. Reset the Engine Control Module. See if the same codes return. You may have installed a defective spark plug in cylinder #2. The fact that the plug is new is not a guarantee that the plug is good. Every experienced technician has encountered some BOB parts. (BOB = Bad, Out of the Box.)

2) Exchange the fuel injectors in cylinders 2 and 6. Reset the Engine Control Module. See if the same codes return. This is not difficult and does not require special tools. Read about removing/installing fuel injectors in the Haynes repair manual, page 4-10,11. I urge you to use the Haynes manual in this instance, as the Chilton manual instructions are misleading.

Please do this work and post your findings here.

fyi ->

I recieved a cylinder 1 missing firing, before. It happened after I changed spark plugs when the engine was still hot. Any way, the boot came off the coil. I was able to glue it back on. The coil still fired, but it was not able to perform correctly when the rpms kicked up. I replaced the coil for 63.00 and everything is performing great.

I am not saying that this is your problem, just that the ignition coils can go bad.
