Those with vent shades on their windows....step in please...
Hey guys,
I'm not sure exactly what these things are called, but I call 'em vent shades, b/c I think that's a brand.
For those of you who have these or have had experience with them...did you notice if there was increased wind-noise at high speeds with these things on there? I have a feeling that some of the wind noise I'm getting is caused by the wind passing under/around these things. They're great to have, b/c you can open the windows a little bit when it's raining, and I don't think they look so bad, but if they dramatically increase the windnoise, then I'm going to take them off.
(The reason I don't know the answer to this question is that they were on there when I got the car.)
Thanks for the help.

My Weathertech Weatherflectors fit into the window channel, and are much more low profile. So the answer is...not really.
Since yours glue on the outside and stick out further, I can see how it might cause more wind noise.

I have the same ones as you do that stick out kinda far. I really havnt noticed wind noise that much as i have just recently put them on my car about 3 weeks ago. So far i think they have reduced the wind noise that i had in the rear windows, but i have not driven fast yet with the windows down.
I will get back to you when i check tom or so.

I had vent visors on my 2001 for about 8 months. Don't get them, they are a waste of money. Go with the WeatherTech version, the ones that wedge into the window themself, if you have to get them. I noticed no difference in wind noise, and originally bought them because I thought they would look cool. After about a few weeks, I realized that they made the car look silly because they cover up the chrome trim around the windows.

I had ventshades on my car, but when I had the car repainted (when I had the kit installed) the bodyshopped removed them and I used cheap double sided tape and now they're gone...if you do decide to get rid of them let me know, I'll buy them off of you
I have a 3rd gen and I've had my vent visors since 96. With the 3rd gen they go into the window channel also, and I must say after 8yrs I'm getting a little tired of the increase wind noise. The WeatherTech version that the other guys are refering to might be a lot thinner compared to older style, but I've been contemplating removing them. But when I think about not being able to crack the windows I don't know if it's worth removing.

My daughter gets car sick so I installed weathertech's to help keep fresh air in the car while driving, which helps. The weathertech's add a slight noise increase but nothing annoying. I'm constantly on the highway and the sound is barely increased. I don't even need to turn the radio up.
