There is this kid that lives by me that is always talking sh#t about his 1997 VW GTI. He always tells me i could have bought a lot better car for the money and I should have botten something that I could mod. The back of the car doesnt say VR6, so i think it is the base engine(im not very knowledgable on VWs). I just always laugh at him and say alright. The only mods he has are springs, STS,and a Supersprint Exhaust. I saw the same kid this weekend at the the front of the light when i was driving my dads 330i, so i thought he would race. I gunned it, but he didnt. I am thinking that my Maxima should be able to give this kid a good beating, what do you guys think??

PS: This kid also thinks that he can take my friends 99 M3 and even went on to say that BMW V8's are slow on the highway. I told him he knew nothing about cars after those comments.

That depends, is the M3 driver on foot, or in his car during the race??

dunno anything about the VW you mention... but I would like to think that you could take him with a Maxima.. I'm sure someone on this board knows for sure... otherwise, just do a search on the net, and you **should** be able to get the specs on his car..

If it isn't the VR6 you'll waste it. As for a VW beating an M3 good friggin luck!
