Does a faulty IACV cause my Max to die when...

Does a faulty IACV cause my Max to die when it reaches about 4k - 4.5k rpm's ?

I've had the check engine light giving me this code for the IACV for almost about a year and the only problem I've had is low rpm's at idle. But since last week my car just wants to shut off when it reaches those rpm's. The only codes that my check engine has given me are the IACV and the rear O2 sensor which I've had since a loooong time ago.

Should the problem be fixed by replacing the IACV? Or does this not have anything to do with the rpms dying at 4k rpms ?

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.

Idle Air Control Valve only effects idle speed.

Yeah That's what I thought. But the Check Engine is not giving me the code for the MAF. And I don't want to spend money on a MAF if I'm not sure that's the problem.

I would tell another Maxima owner to let me try my car out with their MAF just for testing but here in Puerto Rico there aren't much 4th gen Maximas.

Is it possible that the Check Engine won't recognize a faulty MAF?

I believe a faulty MAF wont trigger a CEL unless its totally blown... Not sure though.

The "stage 1" of bad MAF symptoms is EXACTLY what's happening in my case. I guess that must be it then, but I'll still try to test another MAF on my car before buying one.

Thanks to all who replied, you've been of great help
