What is your mileage with the same auto tranny?

How long has your auto tranny last before it blew up, or is it still running?
Trying to forecast the reliability of my auto trans. I have 80000 milles, and still running fine. I flushed the ATF at 50000 milles as preventive maintenance.

My 99 has 89,525, running Amsoil synthetic fluid from about 35K.

A friend of mine has an I30 with about 160,000 on it. He runs Pennsoil Synthetic blend tranny fluid and his tranny shifts really nice and firm even after all those miles.

Had my solenoid pack in the tranny replaced @ 63,000 miles.
Tranny was flushed at the same time.
Then flushed at 113,000. Still running strong.

74,xxx without a problem. I want this tranny to drop though so I can justify a 5spd conversion.

What exactly is this thread supposed to prove? Most people don't have 200k+ miles, so they fill in the lower choices. That doesn't mean our trannies die at that mileage.

152k with a flush at 113k and a drain and refill a few weeks/hundred miles ago. Seems fine except for a hard 1-2 shift when driving normally.

104K, original tranny. Just the VB mod and a custom LSD. And I'm putting more torque through it than most.

Good call, it should really be for those who have actually had a tranny failure. Even then, it depends greatly on whether or not you drive like an a$$; I'd be willing to bet the majority of failed automatic trannies are due to doing donuts, redlining off of every traffic light, neutral drops, brake torqueing, etc. What it comes down to is this: if you change your fluid regularly and don't drive like a complete düschbag, your tranny will last the life of the car. Mine's at 199,220 today and still silky smooth.

Actually I am interested in sampling the longevity of the tranny.

I have this prejudice about auto trannies lasting an average of 100 000 milles, +/-. I hope you are right Maxklinger, when you say changing ATF regularly can make it last the life of the car without major repairs.
