a kid i know is selling a garrett t3/t4 brand new for $350 (he doesn't know what its worth haha). this got me to thinking, could i build my own turbo kit? i know that if i relocate the battery, i would have enough room. the only question after that is getting the pipes and manifolds fabbed. anybody have experience with this? how much this might cost/places to get it done/etc? thanks for the help

 

t3/t4 probally even the biggest one might be kinda small for the 3.5 liter engine. Pipe fabrication is the most expensive part. A performance shop in town will probally need your car for a week, and probally cost 2000 for intercooler and turbo feed pipes with downpipe.

 

what size turbo would you recommend then? i didn't want to go huge because i don't want a lot of lag

 

u can find a T04 that can probably kick in super early. Wish i could give a recommendation but different turbo setups are all new info for me too. I would say the smaller the numbers the faster things work but less hp and weaker high end.

3 things involved with numbers i believe. I've seen turbo's with .30 something compressors, as low as .30 something turbine? i dont know but u can just ask a few maxima turbo vets for recommendations
