So I got a huge dent in my left fender and i went to the body shop and they told me i can get a new one for like 200 bucks n i dont got that much mula now. so i decided to take the fender off and straighten it myself and then prime it and spray paint it wit black spray paint like 3 coats.. do u think it will match my black car well or naw

 

no, it will not be clear coated or anything... it will look bad...

yes, save your money and paint it correctly... or go to a junk yard and see if they have one that was wrecked and that panel is fine and your color...

spray paint will never look right. my older brother tried it once on an oldsmobile once... it was sad.

 

BUT...if you're broke, you're broke. So if you DIY and it's not that great, if it's just a very short temporary thing, I guess go for it. If you plan to roll like that, might as well save the $$ & effort and just save up to get it fixed professionally.

well, closest thing you can do is ask one of the guys who blacked out thier grill... i think bluesbrker or something. I thin kit was him, not sure. Anyways, he said the paint matched pretty well. Big thing to have when doing this: PATIENCE. I hate paint lol cause of that. Wetsand the sucker to.

 

You can get an aftermarket fender for about $150 bucks. The fender must be edged with paint before you install it on the car. Let a body shop do the repair, ask them to price it out for you with the aftermarket part. The door has to be blended in as well for a perfect color match.

 

How big is a BIG dent. Depending on where it is, you would have to blend either the door, and or, the hood. As far as fixing yourself. Like they said, if you're broke, you're broke.......what can you do. Only thing is that you need to accept whatever the outcome is that you decide. I wouldn't normally recommend the spray paint because it WON'T match, even if you clear it. But sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do! I would probably suggest checking a salvage yard for a used fender. The good thing is that the car is still driveable.

 

I agree I did that with my car, and it matched perfectly (took me a few weeks to find it). I made huge profits from Albertsons on that deal after their basket rammed my fender!

That's mine right now and it's $1200 to replace it, color-match the paint, and clear coat it. Luckily he only got the fender and not the hood, door, or bumper.
