Did I pay too much?
Did I pay too much?
Honest thoughts here guys and gals...
2000 Maxima SE 72,500 miles
* Sunroof
* CD/Tape player (non Bose)
* 17" Rims
* Cloth Interior with usual power accessories.
* 5-speed Stick
It was a one owner car (50 year-old-guy)
Very good condition inside and out.
I paid an even $10K.
It seems as though all of my local Nissan dealers list these things well OVER the book's retail price, so I was happy when I found this one...

Well, the price on that one would all depend on the condition of the vehicle. If the exterior was in excellent condition, then 10k is about right for an SE with ~73k miles....maybe a bit more than I wouldve paid, but nothing outrageously overpriced.
Ya....

I just got my 2002 GLE Black on Black AUTO (i got lazy) all the goodies except heated seats and TCS it has 94K on it but all highway miles, interior is perfect so is exterior no dents just needs to repaint the front bumper due to all the highway driving has lil chips. I'm only a year younger than that guy....but I DO have one more gear....and on Sunday, I drive to the track.....(after church, of course)
That's not bad at all....
I got an AUTO 2000 SE a month ago (fully loaded)
heated seats.... black leather interior... sunroof... tcs... bose... basically all premium stuff here... excellent exterior.... excellent interior... engine seems very clean.... and the ONLY bad thing I see about this maxima is the milage on it ( 84k when i bought it )
I bought it for 9500 and it was listed at 11500... had to bargain with the dealer... but not too bad for you...

Kevon1-
No, the dealer didn't tell me that "story". It was sold by the owner to me in a private sale. The title is "clear" and had no security liens on it. Guess I should have said that in the first place...
Thanks for the thoughts boys and girls.
All I know is that it sure beats the prices that local dealers are asking and apparently getting after not accepting my offers! (When I first started looking I offered a dealer $12,500 for a 2000 GLE with 48,XXX and he wouldn't take it....huh?)

I think you got a fair deal. I just purchased an off-lease 2001 SE Anniversary Edition 5-speed, fully loaded with all the options, with 73k Kilometres (approx. 46,000 miles), for $14,500 CDN (that's 11,785 US).
The car is super-clean, in almost mint condition. I had my mechanic check it out prior to purchase, and, given the time spent perusing used Maxima's listed on AutoNet.ca, I was very happy with the car and the purchase price!

But in future, shouldn't ya post these things before ya buy it? Just a thought...
Hey I bet
Hey Galo & Bluesberkr I bet if you guys took any two Org members ages & added them up you two would still be the oldest duo on here! LOL " And in this corner coming in at a total combined age of 101 HaHaHaHaHa!!!!!!!!!!
I recently bought my 02 SE and it was a one owner. The couple that owned it before me was in their late 60's and they traded it in to get an '05 Maxima SE! I got a car because they did all their service at the dealership (I saw the records before I bought the car) and it was well taken care of and only had 33,000 miles on it. This proves that you don't have to be young to enjoy riding around in style and you are only as old as you think you are. So you young guys making fun of these older guys, I have a question. When you get older (and you all will), are you going to trade off your sporty looking car for a Crown Victoria? Maybe a Buick LeSabre?
As for my age, I'm 27, in case anyone was wondering.

that's that got to do with this topic?
but I admit you're right. I'm also 27, and I see that .org is flooded with rich kids that dont pay their rent and are always whining about the Max not being this, not being that.

i think you did good. i paid 11k for my 2000 gle back in april. i found a 2000 gxe for 9k, but it had no options and 120k miles on it. also it had been repainted in the front and the auto shifted poorly. mine car on the other had 85k miles and every option for the year. now i see cheaper ones everywhere....but what are ya gonna do.
i got a 2002 se maxima gray lustre fully loaded with every option, navigation, black leather, bose, seat heaters, steering wheel heater...everything....automatic...
i have 71k miles...99.9% is freeway miles...did all service, excellent condition
i drive from san francisco to san jose and back on 280...not stop and go traffic as i leave my house at 6 am with no traffic and come back around 4:30 with no traffic
how much do you think i could get

Yeah, i also got my max from a dealer for $13 k with 67k miles, fully loaded 5-speed. Dealers try to jack up the prices on the 5-speeds because they were pretty rare (compared to the number of auto maxes made that year). So $10k's not bad...
I also got an extended warranty included with that...
