need exhaust/muffler advice...please help

I've always liked nice performance mufflers, but I've always hated the noise they produce, which at first is nice and sporty, but after weeks/months it's so annoying that I cannot stand it.

Anyway, could you guys give me some ideas as to what I should go with? I would like a quiet muffler with a bigger-then-stock muffler tip. Is there such thing?

I wondered if I can keep my stock muffler and possibly somehow trim the end of the stock tip and fit a bigger performance-looking tip at the end?

All suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

Yes, you can do that.

Any exhaust place can weld on a nicer looking tip.

I've seen big chromed exhaust tips at AutoZone. And they have set screws to hold them in place so no welding necessary.
Personally I wouldn't do it, but that's just me. If you like it, that's what counts.

id definately get one welded on if you were changing... just me though... if you did want more power, but still a quiet muffler... you could get a dynomax superturbo...

you could have that welded on, or you can take it and they could run a a b-pipe for you from the cat back to it... you could even get 2 resonators welded in so it could be SUPER QUIET!...

for time, money, and so you know you will like the sound, id say tip...

I got one from AutoZone and I love it. I like it cause It's easy to take out and clean. And you cant see the screws unless you are under the car.
