Projector headligts for 01 Maxima AE

Has anyone tried to replace the stock headligt with the projector stye headligts? Is the light on the road as bright as they claim? HWere i sthe cheapest place to get these. I saw some at ebay for about US$ 275. shipping included.

I have the damndest time driving at night and well lit roadways in fornt of me is a top priority. I will be trying the PIAA replacement bulbs to see if they help. I am currentlyusing the Sylvania SIlverstars. The beam looks yellowish. It doesn'thelp much when condensatio has built up inside my headlamp casing. Any ideas on how to dry the inside of the casing and prevent this from happening again?

Thanks for your help.

Merry Christmas to all and God Bless.

The projector headlights are even worse than the OEMs. Take your money and buy a set of HIDs on EBay.

Thanks guys. One for and one against. I must say that if I use my brights as well on my current setup, I can see as far as well. I think the HID conversion may be the way I'm leaning to, although the projectors does add a killer look to the car.

Look, don't listen to anyone who tells you to get them. Take that $300 and add another 300 for this:

for sure the projects "look" cool but MANY people here say they are lousy when it comes to actually lighting he road. there are pics posted in previous threads of the terrible beam pattern from the projector. buyer beware.

Get a HID kit for your stockers... projectors suck.... besides, the AE head lights look the best IMO... if I could get some of those with a HID kit, I'd gladly swap out my 02 HIDs... and I'm not kidding....

Seriously? Damn...I prefer the custom AE look myself, though. (When the entire unit is tinted slightly)

I agree with Puppet just get a hid kit and enjoy your lights, its also the least expensive out of all the options listed.

I've seen a lot of negatives on the projector lights and also found out from Nissan that the assembly for the AE may be slightly different from the stock 01's. HID's here I come.

Thanks for your opinions. Merry Christmas to all.

1. its cheaper
2. its easier than replacing the whole thing

however good quality projectors and HID's are the best! projectors look hot as well, if you have the money and the time to put projectors and hids in your car, DO IT!

The reason people put hid's and not projectors is because with regular headlights they get great output with projectors output is diminished plain and simple i dont care how well they look.

you may lose some actual light output from the projector... however they also concentrate your headlights on the road so all in all you get MORE LIGHT ON THE ROAD!!! not off to the side and everywhere else. you get less glare from the projector as well, they have superb light cutoff and lets not forget the most important part... the sweet rainbow like pattern on the edges!
