Anyone have more miles per year than this lady?

A lady came on the lot yesterday with an 03 SE Titanium with 150,000 miles. She said she averages 75,000 per year for work.
The car was in fantastic shape and fully loaded. If we do end up taking it on trade someone will end up with a great deal on a high mile car.

Does anyone here drive more than this lady?

Not sure, probobly in sales or a district manager who travels to different stores all the time. It wasn't my customer. I just struck up a quick conversation because of her car.

That's more than I drive in a year! I'm around 25K a year. She must hate to fly, or have a HUGE sales territory! Assuming she takes weekends off, that's an average of around 290 miles per day!

It doesn't make sense, think about it, she must spend all day in the car. What work could she possibly do.

well 290 miles a day is only about 4 hrs, so she must spend that other 4 hrs doing something else?

She'd be tons better off buying a used... I mean "preowned" 04 with low miles if she drives that much. Unless her company pays for it for her, she's getting ripped!

Heck, I thought my 25 - 30K per year was bad! I do work with people who average about 300 a day and thought their commute was horrid but this takes the cake.

If you can get some pics of that car, I'd love to see it.

how has the car held up mechanically? Im at almost sixty thousand total, and its been pretty reliable other than a few warranty issues.

I don't know about 75,000 miles. My delivery car averages about 55,000 miles a year and that's with driving at least 4 hours per day.

If she ends up trading it in I'll take some pics inside and out. It looked just like anyother 03 Maxima. Interior was in great shape. Probobly never carries passengers. No door dings either. I doubt it spend much time parked.

I agree she should get low mile used but she was looking at 05 TL and RL (Acura dealership).

On the other side of the coin we just took in a 2000 Maxima fully loaded with only 29,000 miles in fantastic shape. We only had that one about 2 days before it sold. I wish I had waited before buying my wifes 2000 with 45,000 miles. I guess that's the thing about selling cars. Lots of temptations.

i have 76k on a 2002 Maxima and 195k on a 97 Altima
I was at a dealer yeterday getting my oil changed and a guy came in a 94 Sentra with 325k to get a new clutch. The car was in really good shape.

Bought a 2k2 with 51k miles on it. I had just returned an '01 Saab 93 leased for 3 years, had 19k miles on it, so figure that for low mileage!

Bought this 2k2 with 51k (kind of high) figuring it in 2 years it will be normal to low miles with my habits. Also looking to sell a '93 Celica conv with 193,000 miles on it. Still runs great.

I don't even have that many miles on my 95 KingCab and I drive it all of the time.

I came up with a 206 miles per day average. Any way you look at it, that's a bunch of driving.

with an average of 20MPG, and an average fuel price of 1.80 (trying to average gas prices for the last 2 years!) that comes out to $13,000 just on gas!!! That comes out to $550 bucks a month!!!! Freaking crap!!

She most likely gets a mileage reimbursement from her employer. At $.30 per mile, she is collecting $1875 per month. That will more than pay for her gas, insurance and the cost of the car. And that $1875 is tax free. Not a bad deal if you ask me.

Forget about how the car is holding up mechanically. I wanna know what condition her seat is in. Is she a hefty lady? More rolls than a bakery kinda girl? That poor drivers side seat!!

Well if she drives that much, she must like a fully loaded car to enjoy herself in it. Wow, if you saw the car on the street you would think it was nice... until you saw the odo. I wonder if she pays cash or what. In 2 years with ridiculous miles, the car must take a hit. My old professor in school told me that he used to make deals with salespeople that had cars like this. In 2 years he would give them top dollar as they traded in their cream puff Oldsmobiles... Someone will buy her car on looks alone.

Luckily for the car she seemed pretty fit. Her seat seemed fine. 150,000 miles on a Max is really not that big of a deal. The fact that it happened so quickly is what amazed me.
Since we're sharing milege stories, my last car was a 95 SE that I bought with 140,000 miles. I drove it to almost 200,000 before trading it on my 02 6 speed with 70,000. I really had no plans on trading it in but we took the car in on trade at a good price and I could'nt resist. Working at the dealership I was able to make my self a great deal.

Wow, I got a '00 SE and I just broke 25K miles. By the time I reach that kind of mileage, she'll have owned like 12 cars. She's lucky!

i don't get the "she should have gotten a used".....lady drives the car a lot. lady wants to drive a GOOD, COMFORTABLE car a lot. lady wants to enjoy the car she spends half her time in....lady gets a good car. i spend that much time in a car, and getting reimbursed, and i'd opt for a bmw or a big suv....if she's already trading it in, then obviously she didint' get it to enjoy the car, but to enjoy it's ride, then hop over to a new ride. she's got the right mind track.

I got my 2003 Titanium with 35500 (highway car... Bumper has evidence of bugs =(...) anyways I am really giving this car a break becuase I have a 2.5 mile commute to work. So I average under 700 miles a month with it. I am going to be taking it to meets if anything.

For ****s and giggles I kbb'ed the ladys car... It's worth about 14100 private party. I assumed it had the following options since its a titanium edition and that it was in Excellent shape:

Engine: V6 3.5 Liter
Trans: Automatic
Drive: Front Wheel Drive
Mileage: 150,000
Equipment

Air Conditioning
Power Steering
Power Windows
Power Door Locks
Tilt Wheel
Cruise Control
AM/FM Stereo
Cassette
Multi Compact Disc
Bose Premium Sound
Dual Front Air Bags
ABS (4-Wheel)

Private Party Value Search Local Listings for This Car $14,105
Private Party Value is what a buyer can expect to pay when buying a used car from a private party. The Private Party Value assumes the vehicle is sold "As Is" and carries no warranty (other than the continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending on the vehicle's actual condition and local market conditions. This value may also be used to derive Fair Market Value for insurance and vehicle donation purposes.

When I did consulting in Fl, I used to drive from Saint Pete to Orlando (and back) every day. And that's just to the office, I'd put 1000-1500 each week.

I pulled a KBB on her car using about the same options. The trade in value in "good" condition was around $10,000. THe problem with a car like that is no bank will touch it for financing due to the miles. It becomes what we call a "cash car". Even if it's really nice it can't be financed so that really limits the amount of people who can buy it.

My current mileage is about 13000 miles a year. August 2005 that'll climb up to 50000
miles a year as I'll have to travel almost 169.2 miles a day. I filled my tank up at 425 +/- 10 miles/gallon. That'll be interesting to see. I've been looking into the Honda
Civic hybrid and Toyota Prius Hybrid. Depending on the cost of the vehicle plus gas vs
the Maxima gas alone will dictate if I keep my car or not...
