cattman headers and cattback

Just ordered the cattman headers and catback. Cant wait! I'm hoping for a good sound nothing too loud and the extra horsepower.

You've never done it have you? People made it seem like they are a ***** to install and I will have to disagree. If there is a write up anywhere saying that you need to unbolt the engine mounts and raise the engine, don't believe it cause you DON'T.

I know you dont have to unbolt the engine mounts.. actually I didnt think of raising or lowering the engine to do so. But I would imagine you'd have to take off the entire intake manifold to reach some of the rear manifold bolts which is another pain. The front manifold is nothing.

The front header is easy. I would describe the rear as being tedious rather than difficult. The total job took me about 6 hours.

You can make it harder on yourself by cutting corners. I found it helped greatly to remove the engine cradle and rear engine mount bracket, just to get some room to work in. Same thing with removing the steering box cover. It would have helped even more to remove the intake manifold so as to be able to get at the upper header nuts and the heat shield from above. I think I30tMikeD was able to do the job by just removing the IM.

We were able to do the job in about 7 hours without removing anything but the IM. Most of the bolts were accessible on the rear from the top.

Hardest part in the rear was getting the heat shield out...but of course removing the cross member would have made that easier.

Are your stock exhaust manifolds in good condition. Do you wanna sell the front one? PM me
