Videos of my car - Is it slow??? paging Nealoc and co.
So I cleaned the throttle body today and took the car out for a spin. I wanted to document the way the maxima sounds before I put the b-pipe and magnaflow on this week.
Right now, the car just has hacked airbox, WSP y-pipe, and 5th gen muffler. So basically, a y-pipe.
Anyway, I was watching one vid and noticed I hit 80mph at 11 seconds from a dead stop. I sent the vid to a friend who had an altima, and now drives a prelude. He knows the trans well because I'm pretty sure it's the same one as in the 4th gen max.
Anyway, he ripped my car apart!

The tb_0-80 vid is the one in question. I know it's not the track, and I bogged the launch, but it's a very flat and long road.
What do you guys think? Here is the AIM convo with name changed to protect the innocent.
I've replaced the KS recently, and the car is running fine despite the stock b-pipe rusting to dust and clanging. If I had to bet, I'd say this car will turn 15.5 @ high 80's... maybe 15 flat with all the stereo equipment and crap out of the trunk. ~200 pounds (look at how low the back of my car sits). The car also had a full tank of gas minus maybe 30 miles.
There's all the info I can think of right now.

those engineers actually didn't choke up the ****. they made the intake quiet and responsive which is what 99% of customers want.

oh and wait a minute, how come ur car is soo quite at high rpms.
my max with injen and wsp y pipe sounds like stuff are exploding when i hit 5500+ rpm. i swear it sounds like explosions down there and feels like the y pipe is about to blast off of the car.

I appreciate everyone helping. The car feels plenty quick to me, besides bogging until 3000rpm. However this wouldn't be the first time I gave up performance to something stupid (read: knock sensor code I missed for 6 months). So I was basically looking for people with experience with autos to look and see if that acceleration lag is normal. I assumed it was - hence why autos are a full second slower in the 1/4 mile.
