When do you hear the bees in the can? At high rpm???? idle???? does it annoy you? I don't drive with my radio on all the time so I don't plan on just cranking up the stereo to drown out the sound....

happy with the stillen ypipe

How do you like the pipe? Notice a Big increase in power? How much did you pay? I'm debating which to get. WSP vs Cattman vs stillen. Thanks for the info..

I have the WSP y-pipe, and I noticed that it does have the bees in the can. Anyway, that's what I think it is. The noise is heard when I start to step on the gas from lower rpms, but gone when it's at higher rpms. The noise sound like something is leaking, it's hard to describe. Perhaps, this is the bees in the can noise?

I have the new Stillen 2 piece pipe and have a case of the bee's. It pretty much always makes the sound as specialy when the car is cold. I think the noise is through the combination of the Stillen Exaust and Y-Pipe. I put header wrap on it and now the sound is far less apparent.

Emax where did you get your header wrap? My bees in a can isn't too bad, and at higher rpms it sounds like a cool whoosh, but I think the power gain is worth the slight increase in noise. I thought a Hiflow cat might help quiet things down as well. Did anyone add a Hiflow cat to their setup to quiet down their exhaust? I have the previous gen Stillen ypipe.

Bees in the Can sound

From what Dallas and I have found out, even the stock y-pipe has the bees in a can sound, but it is insulated and weighs alot more than the Y we make, so it's not as obvious. Interesting alot of people say they haven't had any trouble. From what I understand, the noise is made from the exhaust flow runnung over the irregular surface of the flex liner. Yesterday, Dallas was in Memphis at the big exhaust show. We will soon be ready to trial some of the very newest lined flex sections. There seems to be a small inside diameter loss with these flexes, so we will flow test them head to head against the ones we are currently using. As soon as we have more info. we plan to post.

Warpspeed Pipe

Pipes without bees:

New Stillen Y pipe
New Cattman Y pipe

Please understand that i am only being honest.. as I myself owns a Warpspeed pipe with the bees.. if i cared that much about the sound i would have bought a Stillen or Cattman pipe.. some people are touchy this sound might bother them.. to me i don't care.. i usually drive with my music blasting anyway .. and my CAI and Warpspeed pipe sounds together i feel sounds 10 times better than the Loud Four Banger Fartcannons i hear every day

Yes, the WSP y-pipe indeed have the bees in the can. However, for $305, it's not that bad. I too have my music on loud, so I don't hear it that much.

i must be lucky, my stillen y-pipe doesn't sound like a weed wacker and i don't even have header wrap on it.

My exhaust make sort of a rattle (the beez) when there is a load on the engine. It wont make the noise just reving the engine. The header wrap will help this? The header wrap should also cool the underhood temperatures. Also, anyone know where header wrap can be obtained cheap?

How could it be a old pipe if it is 2 pieces? I do know that it was one of the first 2 piece pipes sold by Stillen. Ohh yeah enough with damn spoiler all ready, you know you wanted one too. BTW if you are comming to the MA meet you can hear the sound first hand.

I believe that how it is. Mine was the same. I wouldn't say it's rusty color, but it doesn't exactly looked great. As long as it works right? Not like anyone going to look under your car.

WSP pipe

Vitaly O. Did you receive an e-mail from Dallas? We appreciate feedback, even negative. It helps us do a better job. We do occasionally try our pipes on cars to check fitment and occasionally we even get one from a customer who decides he dosn't like it for what ever reason. Since I was the one who shipped this pipe, after reviewing our stock, it's probably a pipe that was returned. It was run for about and hour or so. If you still have a problem, please e-mail Dallas. We don't want you to be unsatisfied with it.Please accept our appology.
