The body shop estimate was: 5490
The insurance estimate was: 5486
As the body shop was working on the car, they found they had to replace the seatbelts and a few other small parts, so that's why the cost totalled over 6 grand.
Yea insurance paid for pretty much everying - a $500 deductable. I still need to get new tires(something got ****ed up with the radials and I need new ones all around), but I have an inside deal and I'm get $105 tires for $31/tire. Also need an alignment, and then this car should be pretty much back to normal *cross your fingers*. Right now, I'm going to keep the car the way it is; I'm broke as a joke and I still need books for next semester. Thanks for the complements guys, and happy holidays, I'm off to visit family.

EDIT: Oh and the body shop forgot to put a clear coat on the fender, so I have to head back there and get them to fix that, but otherwise I think they did a beautiful job.

Somebody remind...what's the regular 97-99 grill like? You just had them paint the black parts body color right?

Paint looks nice and glossy, but get them to realign the left headlight again.

Nice body work. IMHO, I think that having just the H part of the grill painted looks better. I just recently replaced the messed up grill on my 95 with a modded 97+ grill and I only painted the H part and it looks pretty sweet. I painted the word NISSAN on the emblem the same color as the car. See pic below (the lower valance will be a future mod: middle bar removed + mesh + lip).

Nice work on the body shops part. I just got mine back from a shop too, not as much damage as yours but pretty bad, roughly 3 grand. Body shops are scary good at putting things back to the way they were or better huh?

The only reason they didn't do a wheel alignment is becuase I need new tires, and what is the point of doing a wheel alignment when they will already be doing it when I get the new tires popped on?

Yea when I take the car to get the clear coat on the fender that they forgot, I'm going to make em realign that headlamp also.

The grill has the words accident writen all over it to me, but not many people look at things like that besides me.

And like stated above the left tail light looks uneven and the body shop should have done the alighment.

but the paint works looks good.

Dude no way in hell is that 6k in damages, I'm getting my whole car repainted and body kit removed and installed for around 3k!!! A new bumper is like 80 bucks, new fender like 60 bucks, new light like 70 bucks, and new corners like 40 bucks, to remove and install the fender and bumper shouldn't have costed more than $600-$700 and that's from a really really good body shop! Dude you should've collected that money and have someone else do it. You got raped!!!!!!!

your insurance got raped, my moms 2002 hyundai sonota looked same after her accident. they replaced her bumper, grill, one projector headlamp (im pretty sure projector headlamp are at least twice as much as your standard one). And passanger fender for $1600. The insurance also got money from the insurance company of the person who hit her to cover the deductable.

It's obvious that the grill is not stock but it does look nice. It makes me wanna get my front end painted. I wish I got an accident. The sparkles (paint chips) that the previous owner put on my front end look like crap after seeing your pics. I aquired my maxima for 6500.

You guys don't realize how expensive body work is. Plus he prob had frame damage also, and that's not easy to bring back to original shape. All these body shop places will ripp you off when they know insurance is paying, but then again they'll just ripp you off period.

I highly doubt there was frame damage. All the expensive costs come from the paint and labor. Not to mention, theres sometimes a bunch of misc parts that add up quickly that are hidden from what you see.
