My car got rear ended in a chain collision

Yea, what a great way to start my Christmas eve. Anyways, the traffic was moving slow, bumper to bumper traffic at about 25 mph. I dont know what happened ahead of me, but we all had to come to a stop. I stopped about 2ft behind the car infront of me. All of a sudden I hear tires squealing, I look in the mirror and all I could think was "OH $HYT!"... BAM! . A damn Infiniti QX4, either the guy wasn't paying attention or he was going too fast, or a combination of both. He slammed into my car, I hit the Echo infront of me, that lady hits the Accent infront of her.

Long story short, according to the police officer, the driver of the QX4 is responsable for the damages to all the vehicles involved, since he was the one that started the chain reaction. My car's rear bumper is smashed flat and is pushing my trunk lid up about an inch (the trunk lid itself looks fine tho). My front bumper is slightly pushed in, but evenly (it's bent towards the outside on the sides where it meets the fenders). Other than that, nothing else happened to my car. The frame isn't bent. Later tonight i went to drop off my g/f and iw as doing about 80 and felt no different than before. So the frame should be just fine. Monday us "victims" are gonna go to several bodyshops to get estimates for the repears.

People wear your seatbelt! If it weren't for those things mine and my g/f's heads would have smashed the windshield when I hit the car infront of me.

Yea for real. First the headrests ACTUALLY BEING ELEVATED saved out necks, if it weren't for those things me and my girl would be in the hospital with major whiplash (*sp) from the moment the truck hit my car. Second the seatbelts kept us from smashing into the windshield when I hit the car infront of me. Even in X-Mas God's got time to look out for people! WOO HOO

Thanks, beside the accident, it's been going good. Got some cloth, some $ and a dremel! I can do the port and polish on my heads and port-match the manifold next year when I get the 3.5

sorry to OT this thread but speaking of chain reaction accidents...

about 8 years ago tonight my stepmother was driving us back from a cristmas party when she hit a patch of black ice and lost control of our volvo 850 station wagon. We hit the guard rail to our right (car in front of us crashed at the same time as well) but we spun across the road took out the left hand median and ended up facing the wrong direction in the fast lane of traffic on our side of the road. Got hit head on by an explorer doing about 70. Ended up causing a 34 car pile up.. No one was hurt thankfully and 2 babies where born on the scene.
