Hi there, newbie here.I had read a post that said
you had turboed your diesel.I have considered
doing this to my car since I have a complete
82 turbo zx setup laying around.Did you intercool
it,are you running stock zx boost, did you have to
modify the injector pump?I have several years
experience turboing early zcars but no diesels.
Thanks for any help,
Russell

For some reason I can't find the older posts where I described the entire process, anyhow, you will need all the exhaust parts from manifold to the down pipe,(you need to cut it about 3-4 inches to clear the steering knuckle) retain the intake manifold, fabricate a discharge pipe from the turbo compressor to the intake (if you inter cool, then more fabrication) look out for the EGR, I just blocked the EGR port on the intake manifold and re-routed it into the inlet hose just after the filter, the exhaust manifold will need some trimming also around the bolt holes, no big deal!

I have not inter cooled mine, as I'm still running stock boost and it is low enough to not need the inter cooler, also no mods to the injector pump were made.

I run a straight 3" exhaust pipe with no muffler and a K&N filter, the project in progress now is PROPANE INJECTION, soon to come.

I'll tell you one thing tho...... since the turbo install, I get the most pleasing whirling sound from it, just like the big boys (you know big trucks)

There is a noticeable increase in power and a decrease in smoke, millage has also increase just so.

Thanks very much for the info.I have seen an ld28
in a 240z,but they did not give any details.I did not
know if any injector pump mods were needed.
Good luck with your current project.I have seen
turbo diesel trucks with it,pretty cool.
Thanks again,
Russell
