A post for those who don't know what stickies are:

The KA24 t-body mod is the oldest in the book. Everyone knows about it. EVERYONE. You need to port out the intake manifold to get it to work completely, cuz in the end you can only fit so much air in the stock openning no matter how big your TB is. Please take time out to read the stickies (the TB mod is in there!)

P.S.
dwayne = Drjmaxx88
sarin = maximase86
carson = cardana24
that's all i can remember right now.

Consider yourself schooled.

And here is a few more:

wylie = wylie-c
max88q = Qijuan
turboast4 = the guy that thinks I'm a robot
blackmaxima88 = Dan

Crap...I forget the rest. :P Why is it that when you try to remember names....you can't remember names.

Here is a cool mod for everyone should try. There is the thing when you press the accelerator...the car goes very very fast....and when you let off the gas....there is this noise that sound like this: PPPPPSSSSHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I saw the thread where you were talking about the belt... hopefully
it just broke from tension after you shut the car off.

Did you keep the 300Z ECU in the car or go back to the original ECU?

Good luck!

I ran the Z ECU for a bit...then my CHTS started acting up. After clearing the codes a few times with the stock ECU, it started working fine again.

how many of you all have actually done the T/B mod, with a port matched intake neck? I am going to do this soon and was wondering if you there was any noticiable difference? I know when I added a larger T/B to my fourth gen the throttle response became very touchy.

I'm planning on doing it soon...considering my broken timing belt...I might be pulling stuff apart. Depending on how bad things are, I might be doing a VG30ET as well. Can anyone say 14psi and 275whp?

well unlike i did remember to re attach everything before running the engine such as the idle controol or when you let off the gas the car will die because it dosent kno what idle is and remember to reattach the tb sensor also as for sound goes its much louder and if im not mistaken i feel more torque also deffinately something eveyone should try.

I did the mod about 5 years ago lol old. Anyone that drove my car before and after noticed a big difference in throttle response. Hit the gas and the car would jump off the line, I had to relearn how to take off smoothly.

can you comment on the install? do you just pull the bolts out of the Stock one and slap the new one on in its place? No other mods? I will be boaring out the intake plentium neck to match the TB, but other than that I was not planning on doing anything else.

I believe he did bore out the intake plenum. I mean that is all you really need to do since it expands back as you work your way futher into the plenum. However if you really wanted to, you can hog out the entire plenum as well (basically make the plenum one huge space instead of 2 smaller ones.....but that takes a lot of work and a most likely a machine shop to do.

I have good tools with a compressor, I guess I can look at it when I pick up my other plenum tomorrow night. Is there any advantage to making it single chamber? Any dyno results (actual dyno, or SOP dyno will do if no true dyno has ever been done)

Someone mentioned that the cylinders furthest from TB could lean out a little....but I yet to see that confirmed.

only one way to find this out, hit up a junkyard for a extra intake and take a wack at it, i'd be interested to see what it does.

just be sure not to machine out the little pathway things for the mounting bolts otherwise you'll have to jb-weld it on or something

I can vouch for the increase in throttle response as well, maybe a little more top end out of it as well. Mine pulls past redline and bounces off the rev limiter from time to time ( loud BBrrrrrRRRRRAAAAAAPPPPP, and then a wicked second gear chirp! ). As for the intake, be sure you stuff it good with rags before you start hogging it out for the new TB, when you pull out the rags all the filings should come out with it. A shop vac helps too.

I am getting a second plenum today so getting stuff in the motor is not a concern of mine since it will not be on the car when I am grinding it out....and I have never chirped second gear in my car (I am not sure I have tried very hard), so if I can do that I will be impressed.

I doubt that you'll get the chirp, or maybe even such high rpm's in Drive, mine was rebuilt with a shift kit..... it shifts very hard. But you'll definately feel a difference on the butt-dyno. One other thing that might have changed my car's behaviour was driving around for a day rat-bagging it, manually keeping the stick in 1 & 2 so it keeps the revs up. I think it 'trained' the computer a bit.
