Spoiler L.e.d.

just out of curiosity i own a 2k2 w/ ALL the options, i know there are those out there with the same. My Spoiler L.E.D. light blinks four times before going solid (to let all those behind me know i am braking ) in anyone's opinion, do you think this was a factory installed option, or do you think this was some sort of aftermarket bulb or something? i do not know, it kind of bugs me, but then again, people stop like 5 feet behind me, so it works. does anyone else have this?

i want it!!! if anyone knows where i can get it that would be great. i've researched before, and i'm sure it's a relay module, that is inline with the led wires, that like a flasher. one comp i know makes one called, "backoff".

let me know if there are others out there.

if i saw this on a car in front of me, i would just think.. "wtf is wrong with that guy, why is he tapping his brakes?" it would not make me stop any sooner, or any further away. pointless mod.

I've seen 2 cars with similar 3rd brake light patterns.... highly annoying IMO... esp since I was stuck behind one of em in traffic... so you can imagine - every 6-10 feet it'd blink like crazy...

thats almost like the newer bmws, but they change in intensity depending on how hard you mash on the pedal.

Seems kinda useless.

that seems pretty pointless to have, and not to mention annoying...i absolutely HATE people that tap their brakes like 5 times per second before coming to a stop, and thats what that would make me think that person was doing...i would try and fix it if my car did that...

My friends Honda Passport does that. Do you have an aftermarket alarm system? My friends only idea of what it could be is his aftermarket alarm.

no, no alarm, Just Facotry Passive nissan Alarm. Local dealership told me that they have the stuff for it, but i do not know if it was installed when whoever bought the car or if it was installed at some other shop. Freind who works at the parts department said it was a dealer option, so who knows.

Its nothing like the BMWs. The bmws only engages at a certain braking threshold, not every time you hit the pedal. They do not increase in intensity, butso light up a second set of brighter surrounding brake lights. And since braking is done progressively, they will light only when braking hits its peak, alerting inattentive drivers to the fact that you are still braking and braking harder. Its a good idea if you live in one of the worse areas for traffic in the nation. Also, its a great thing for those who travel highways alot.

about the blinking 3rd brake light: While its good for motorcyles (small and often hard to see at night) itd be flat annoying to those following you in gridlock. Also, it draws unnecessary attention from our friends in law enforcement. Personally, Id get rid of it...but that is just me

depending on the situation i thinhk it could be benificial. like if you live in foggy areas it might help the person behind you to see that there is a stop ahead also for those dip Shat's that like to chill on the cell phone and f with the radio and not pay attention maybe they would catch a blinking light out of the corner of there eye and cause them to react just that much quicker.

now if you leave in an area where it really doenst matter then get rid if it.

thans my 2
