I don't know anyone on the .Org with that exhaust so I've never heard of anyone's experience.... to me, it looks fine... its probably gonna be loud... hopefully it'll fit right... why don't ya just get a GReddy, Frankencar, Cattman, or Mossy? All those are proven... well, except for the Mossy... I think its their first venture into Maxima parts... but they do Altimas and Sentras...

Btw, a cat-back won't give ya 15hp like they claim.... more like 5hp, if at all...

well its "JAPAN DESIGN" so it must be good

Here's a hint....Stainless steel exhausts that are of any quality at all don't go for $159...you get what you pay for. Period. This is probably very loud, drones like a *****, and uses MIG welds instead of TIG welds. Besides, you don't really want that HUGE fart-can on the back of your car, do you?

I had a copule of different setups, but my favorite was the Greddy. The Cattman is the quietest though for sure, and it retains the dual pipe exits...

Yeah... the GReddy was my favorite too, but I just sold it today... I like my Frankencar though... still can't used to not hearing the exhaust.... although I know Irish is gonna tell me that I'm a better person for getting rid of the "fart can"...

The Fart can looks good when you have a Stillen kit, since it hides the cannister. To each his own though. Molst exhausts will produce some sort of sound. I've seen and ridden in pretty much every setup out there. Just figured I'd give you some suggestions. Since you live on the East coast, make sure its Stainless steel....

It could be... but I think the difference is hardly noticeable... well I guess to some it might be... all I can say about the FC is that its only slightly louder than stock during normal driving and crusing and then when you're at at higher rpms and WOT then ya start hearing more of it....

I bought catback from ebay over the summer, all stainless w/ a different fart can and a 1 piece b-pipe for $200, quality was good and fitment was right on. I installed the same time i put on my stilen y
- it droned & was way to loud for my taste, took of the mufffler about a month later and put back on the stock, kept the B pipe though

Does anyone know if the muffler from FrankenCar or Cattman will bolt up to GReddy? I do a lot of highway driving and it drones at 60 to 80 MPH too much.
Don't get me wrong greddy does sound nice driving around town or going above 80 mph, but going between 60 to 80 mph in 6th gear it's too loud for my taste.

Thanks,
TonyB.

I feel ya there... although that's not why I got rid of mine... anyways... I know that dblrr900 had an OBX cat-back that was very similar to the GReddy and his FC muffler didn't fit quite right... I believe he said some bending coulda made it fit, but overall it wasn't good so he ended up getting the entire FC cat-back. You could try asking him for more details...

Btw, the FC b-pipe is actually in 2 pieces as opposed to the GReddy, which is one piece. FC separates the resonator section; I guess its for people who might wanna go with no resonator. I'm not sure if measuring would help, but you could try that. I just swapped the whole thing out and sold the GReddy.

Quality is great on that exhaust. I got it figuring if i dont like the muffler i can change it and still be less than any of the others. They are beautiful robotic tig welds. I havent bolted it up but i matched it up and looks perfect. Comes as a 3 peice with all gaskets and bolts. The N1 exhaust is always one of the loudest, so it probably will drone a lot if you have an auto. But definatly seems like a good buy, But i cant tell you how it sounds yet, and i dont plan on taking out the silencer much. I have seen good gains with this exhaust in magazines on civics and such.

If ya can, maybe post some pics and sound clips so that people on the .Org can see it on your car and know how it sounds... would be a great service to the community... if I had more time I'd try to put together a sound clip compilation...

name brand people... name brand... you get what you pay for and you are better off getting the right part the first time or it might cost you more to correct your problems.

what kind of gains does the cattman exhaust give over stock with headers, B pipe & intake.

It may not make quite as much power, but if you can find a good quality shop near you to install custom piping, you can reuse your stock muffler and just replace the restrictive stock exhaust piping. It makes for a less restrictive exhaust setup overall with a sound that is only slightly more aggressive than stock. I'm trying to decide on an exhaust now, and a few people here on the org have advised me that the stock variable capacity muffler isn't all that bad, since it gets less restrictive at higher RPMs. Most of the people who gave me that advice tried exhausts with aftermarket mufflers before they switched back to the stock muffler.

This may not be an attractive option to you, but I'm seriously considering it, because I want my car to be faster, but I want it to look nearly stock. I don't want to be attracting the attention of ricers and cops by advertising that my car is modded.

The exhaust we have uses the stock bolt up locations. It will fit to the stock exhaust or any exhaust that is also designed that way such as the greddy. if you would like more information please email me at shop@frankencar.com and i will get back to you promptly.

Frankencar muffler does not bolt up to GReddy

I was putting the Frankencar muffler section in today and found out that it would not bolt up to GReddy catback B-Pipe section, it looks like it should fit at first sight but it doesn't.

I just wanted you to know that if you got GReddy Evo you will need to buy the complete system if you want to switch to Frankencar catback.

There was a gap that i couldn't pull close to bolt the pipes together

take a look here and here

The FrankenCar exhaust is awesome !
I like the sound very much, it's even more quiet than i thought it would be (for me that's a good thing, after having greddy). Catback is comletely Stainless Steel vs Greddy just a muffler being stainless steel. Workmanship is excellent.

I've received it yesterday but did not get home from work untill about 9 pm, well, i thought that's not too late so i'm gonna do the install, but then the rain started, so went inside, watch an episode of Alias by that time rain has stopped, so i went out and installed it. It was easier than i expected, there were no fitting issues whatsoever. (you do have to raise the car high enough to be able to take the old muffler out and to put the new one in).

In my opinion it's well worth the money and the effort.

Good to hear. I am purchasing mine either tomorrow or Monday. Now have to find a place to install it for me, or buy a new jack. I already have two jacks, but they don't go high enough. Will see...

I didn't have 3.5 ton jack, so i had to use two four inch cinderblocks on each side to put under the jacks that came with the car, still had to extend the jacks all the way, look kinda scary, but i made sure that the front wheels were secured, i only used that to get the muffler. For the B-pipe i just drove up my rear wheels on ramps, and jacked up front just a little, front wheels didn't even have to come of the ground.

But if I had to do it again i would just buy the 3.5 ton jack

also the radio sounds much better now, and i don't have to crank it up as much
