How much do you love your Max?

whats up guys? Well i just got home for the night. I decided to take some time and appricate the max. Once it was in my garage i got out and got in the back seat. All i can say is wow. Us being the owners dont spend much time in the back seat inless its stripping it for the track, or vaccuming it out or adding some custom leather. But now that i actually got in the back and sat, it was pretty darn comfy and roomy! I dont want to hear about my friends complaining anymore!! Even with the seat all the way back i still had room and im a big kid, 6'2 170 lbs.

Next the VQ. The VQ is probably the strongest engine i have ever seen. Being a 17 yr old kid i do drive my car hard sometimes. Everyone does. When i first got my 96 and installed my STS and took it out for a ride i accidenly shifted from 5th to 2nd thinkin it was fourth. The poor thing bounced off the rev limiter and scared the poop out of me. Having 118k miles on her i still havent had to do one thing to the engine. Regular oil change and she runs perfect.

Performace wise no one would ever think the max would eat some of the 2 door sports cars on the street. That mighty V6 pulls those 4 doors right down the street with ease. With minor mods this hangs with the higher end V8s. The pure adrenaline of a 4 door grocery getter flying down the track pulling off low 14s or high 13s and smoking GTs is just insane.

The maxima is also one of the sexiest cars ive seen. With so rims, drop and a nice lip kit this car stands out among ever other car. The curves and design of the maxima is amazing. Some cars on the org just make me drool. Everywhere i go people look and ask my what kind of car i drive.

I was at the car wash the other day and two older ladies walked up to me as i was drying my car off and they say, " excuse me sweetie, we were wondering what kind of car this is." I replied with, " Its a Nissan Maxima," with pride. The proceded to say, " how can you afford such a new car, you cant be any older then 20." I told then that actually my car was a 96 and im only 17 yrs old. They said they couldnt believe it was a 96. They admire the paint and also said my wheels were real snazzy The nice older ladies actually asked to sit inside of it!! I let them both sit in the drivers seat. I told them it was nice talking to them but i had to get going.

Well ill end my book here. Just wanted to share the love of my maxima. Pretty cool a grocery getter can do all this!!

i would have to say i really like my maxima, im not sure if i love it tho. let me see, i like it so much that all i can think of - half the time- is what mod to do next, should i do this...or that. and a few weeks ago for the first time i sat in the back seat and yea, it felt good. as of right now im fiberglassin my rear speaker deck... so i can get the courage to tell my max i love her.
its not a hobby, its an obession

I love my car so much that I won't even take it to malls or shopping stores anymore. Worrying to much about carts and other dumb drivers who don't care.

I would say LOTS & LOTS - and i def agree to the fact that there is alot of room in the backseat, a powerhouse for a family four door sedan & most of all a thrill to drive each and every day.

ALL IN ALL - I LOVE MY MAX

Let's just put it this way... My wife admits to knowing she's #2....
she knows if she said her or the car, she'd be packing....

the good part is she's cool with that.

So much that I make sure she is salt free as much as possible throughout the winter. That requires atleast 2 washes a week, and I love every minute of it.

Yeah I would have to say I love her a lot too I've spent so much time, energy, and countless dollars on it that it would be a lie to say that I'm not married to her. I detail her atleast once a week. I think I've been thru hell and back shes been at the body shop getting a new custom paint job for the last 4 weeks. I'll be like a lil kid on X-Mas when I see her this week!!! WOOHOO CAN'T WAIT! My gf knows how much I love her and always tells me "I know I'm loved if you love me as much as you love your car". LoL I'm glad she understands though. It really does become an addiction or obsession. And I am very much of a perfectionist, I won't rest or sleep till' everything in her, or on her is the way it's supposed to be. I do not think I'll EVER spend half as much time and money as I will on any other car. I truly do love her, and I always find myself driving for no apparent reason just to enjoy life with it. But I'm still young just turned 20 today and there's a time and age for everything, so I enjoy it while I can.

I have been in love with the Max for 6.5 years now. I look at my car now everytime I leave it when I walk into a store or if I am walking by a window in my house. I too will drive around for no other reason than to be in it and listening to music, and add the occasionaly WOT. I get in my back seat too from time to time. It is a nice sit, I would like to be a passenger in the back. Also, I tune the music back there as well, occasionally. My Maxima completes me.....

More Than I Love My Sho

I have had the 03 Maxima now for 3 days and I miss it as soon as I close the garage door. I will be doing an ATF flush on it this weekend since it is now -40. It should be warming up but we will see. There is so much to do to this thing as far as aftermarket parts. My 93 SHO is a kicker too. The bright red would be Nice on the Maxima but now that I am older the Charcoal is more "elegant" as my wife would say. I have not even tapped into the power of the Max for it is too icy on the roads and I can stand to go fast with all the gravel on the roads. If there was some way to protect the body moldings underneath the doors (ANY PRODUCT OUT THERE?) i will install them too.

By the way does anyone have HEADLIGHT PROTECTION FILM (example...X-PEL) on there Maxima? If so does it wrap all the way around the light or does it just covers the front?

Where are the Jacking points for the MAXIMA for the owners manual does say a thing and if its like the SHO it should be the beginning of the sub frame underneath the driver and passenger door jam???????

I love it soo much just like everyone else here, i look back at it after i park it, or after i put it into the garage. i treat it as best that i can, and try to do everything that i can to keep it running as smooth as possible. Also the best feeling is installing that new Mod, and apreciating the Max even more. And when you see those Riced out civics, you think to yourself, "thats right my max is better".

I don't know why some people are convinced their Max is the worst car on the road.

My parents offered to buy me a 2002 black Toyota Tundra Limited that had 10" lift, 36" tires, complete audio/video system with 3 TVs, intake, exhaust, tow stuff, brush guards, the list goes on. This was back in 2002, the car was $28k.

Two catches: First was that it would be their money paying for it. Second was that I had to sell my Maxima. Not a chance.

Dammit, this thread just sent me further down in depression. I havent driven the max since november. I uncovered her and started her up last night. I have already cleared and blacked out a set of 2k2 HIDs for her as well as installed a new o2 sensor, now I have to decide if I want to replace coils and MAF or MAF only. Thanks for nuttin! OH And I love my car.

I haven't even gotten through the break in period with my first Maxima and I've yet to see what it can truly do. Yet, I have to admit I like this car far more than any other I've owned, both in looks and performance. I look for excuses to get in it and drive....anywhere!

Exactly.
If this is the worst car they've bought, why are they holding on to it and/or continuing to mod/care for it?
