can a stainless steel clutch line be installed without taking out the transmission? is it something i can do with a jack?


also, how hard is it to install SS brake lines? and i dont mean just the flex part at the ends that connect to the calipers, i mean replace the entire system with SS lines.

 

SS clutch line doesnt need to drop the tranny.

the clutch I'm not sure, there is a GD going on for them, cant remember if they have instruction or maybe Pm someone who has purchased it they might have installed it as as soon as they got it.

 

that SS brake line write up is for the flex section in the wheel wells that connects to the caliper. does that do anything when the rest of the line is not stainless steel? can i replace the ENTIRE brake line with SS?

 

The rest of the brake lines are SS hard lines.

I have the SS clutch line. It is the same basic install as the brake lines. It goes from a hard line by the tranny mount through a little box thing that it runs that is bolted to your tranny to your slave cylinder. The first batch of these were far too long to just run to the box (and that would be stupid since you would still have rubber lines just not as much), but not long enough to go to the hard line without bending it a little. Bending the hard line didn't hurt it and they fixed it to make the new ones all a little longer.

I didn't notice a huge difference but my stock line had a leak so I was without my car and I had to drive my Toyota Pickup for about a week waiting to find a part. I was just happy to drive my max again. The Nissan dealership wanted like $40 for part of the line while the SS line was like $20-25 shipped (don't remember exactly). I would definitely recommend if you need to replace it and it really can't hurt performance wise for the price but you have to bleed the lines. It will just make your clutch bite a little firmer and it will help prevent the leaking that the stock rubber lines tend to have.

 

the reason im looking into SS brake and clutch lines is because i want to replace both my clutch and brake fluids and i figure i might as well change the lines while im going that.

 

im looking 2 get my hands on some SS clutch lines. Where can you get these??? how many clutch lines are tehre i would need 2 replace??
