Cold and Door locks don't mix

Don't know what the hell it is...as I haven't had the time to rip the door apart to look, but when the temperature drops here, the rear doors don't unlock with the keyless entry. At first it was the rear driver's side door...now its both rear doors....seems like they are stuck or something...anyone have similar issues?

I have the same exact problem. Mornings I cant use the key, so I have to use the keyless... Rear doors still will not open with the keyless.

both of my rear doors stick whenever it hits a certain temp outside... seems to be common on 4th gens.

Open front door, stick your hand in and manually unlock it.

I have encountered problems in the cold of the keyless not working. Locking doors and the unlock function. Basically, all of the buttons don't work on the keyfob. It is usually fairly cold when this happens, 25 F and below. Not sure what the story is. The key of course works.

happens to me too, the back door(s) wont unlock sometimes but I know its due to cold whether, doesnt bother me cause I'm the only one riding most of the time, and if not I dont mind spending a coupel of seconds reaching back to unlock it.

Looking at the replys in this thread, I can safely say that the back doors not unlocking issue is limited to 95s and 96s. I know that my 97se never had the problem..prior to its demise. I'm going to dig into it...likely some goop they put on the doors somewhere.

Thanks for all the responses.

I have the exact same problem on my '98 GXE. The rear door, even with it unlocked would not open. It would come open by an inch or so and still stay latched...

exactly!

I dont think it s a specific year issue, I think its a matter of how cold is it when you try to unlock the doors.

well I take back my earlier comment...however, I never had this issue with my 97se...could be the mechanism or something freezing in there...

I had the same problem with the driver door with keyless entry when it was around -15 to -20 out. Every door would unlock/lock with keyless, and the driver door would do nothing. Worked the next day though.
