My battery dead? If so, what type of replacement?

Today I tried to start the car and it would crank but wouldn't start. The car was out of juice and so I used my dad's car to jump start it and just let it sit for 10-15mins to recharge the battery. Later, I tried to start it again and it would not start. Assuming the battery is dead and I need a new one, which one should I buy?

I was looking at the Optima batteries as i've heard a few things about them but are they really worth all that extra cash? If so, which one should I be going for and where do I purchase one locally? Also, is it true that they don't make a perfect size for the 99 maxima?

If the Optima batteries are not worth it and I can get away with a cheaper battery that is just as good, similar or better, which one and where to get it?

Thanks

Another one just like it, unless you want a Optima series battery.

If you get one like you have make sure it meets the number needed for our cars. For Crank and Cold crank

I've always been a sears Die Hard fan, NEVER had a problem. Just bought the best one they make, the Die Hard Gold, lots of cold cranking amps and included installation, disposal of my old battery, and it's a 60 month battery, all for $80.

I had the same problem a month ago, I tried to start the car, but it would crank and crank but not start. I thought it was my batt, since it was about 3 years old. Replaced the batt with a new one and the car started a couple times and then wouldn't start again. CEL finally went on, pulled codes and found out my camshaft position sensor was dead, and that was what was causing it not to turn over. Anyhow, hopefully your problem is just the battery and an easy fix.

CHECK your cable connections and make sure they are tight. A loose connection will cause your car not to start.

I have an Optima Red Top, and have no complaints thus far. It provides enough CCA to start the car right away no matter what the temperature is outside.
