Removing pre cats on 02 3.5

I've heard that it may be possible to remove the pre cats on the 02 Maxima by using the exhaust manifolds from a specific 00 or 01 maxima.

On previous maximas the pre cats were located in the y-pipe. On the 02+ maxima they're located in the exhaust manifolds and the aftermarket y-pipes don't eliminate them.

Does anyone know about this? If so, What type Maxima do the manifolds come from? Also, which y-pipe would I need? 5th gen, 5.5 gen or neither?

I also posted this in the all motor forum.

If you gut them you will gain high end power. How much I am not sure because I am not sure who has done this yet.

Also, don't be a child and repost the original post just because it did not get answered yet. This wastes bandwidth and everybody's time.

Thanks for the responce to the question. I'll have to look into that.

I meant to repost that in the all motor forum to reach the non 5th gen people who use the 3.5 in other cars. Look how close the times are. I beg the forgiveness of all who were hurt.
