anyhwere from 100 to 1000 depending on where or how you get the parts

we did it on my friends 91 for about 300 with new axles but it was a pretty big project since we were getting everyhtign from diferent junk yards

i would say its not worth it for a vg. considering all the trouble you might as well sell your vg auto and get a ve 5spd and it proly would end up costing you nothing depending on what condition your gxe is in. its what i did and its the best mod ive ever done a 5spd and 30 extra horses and i made money off of it i could swap basically everything and i got a bunch of cool extras like another set of 17's, fidanza fw, cai, y pipe, high flow cat ec..... keep your eyes peeled on ve's for sale you might get lucky like me.

i would say its pretty easy to find a VE 5-speed up north compared to down south where i live. i've been lookin' for one for a while now the closest i came to one was at a junkyard. its a '93 burgundy SE 5-speed with black leather. don't know why it was junked though. till this day that car is still there in the junkyard. i asked the guy at the yard how much for the whole car and he said $600 for the whole car but i thought what else could be wrong with it if it was the engine that blew??? i didn't have the money to spend either way. now back on the topic i did my 5-speed swap myself and all i spent was only about $230 and it was easy as hell to do. but normally a shop would charge a little over $1000 for the swap.
