http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...9/760476_5.jpg

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...9/760476_8.jpg

i'll get some better ones later, i took the pics when it was starting to rain and it was about 20 degrees, freezing man

oh the reason i don't have the grilles on the back speakers is because i'm going to remove the tweeters on them to put them somewhere else, just too cold right now

if those links don't work, here is my website link

Personally, I like to leave stuff behind the original Bose grills for stealth reasons and because I think it looks a little cleaner. Yours are fine, but not my taste. At least you don't have a stock stereo.

chill fool... what you did looks good... but i do agree with the others about leaving it behind the orginal grills, just for stealth... but if that's not your style then that's not your style... thumbs up to you and your dad for your work

I say just leave the tweeters on the speakers and buy some more, you can never have too much high range. My subs drown out the actual music so much that more tweeters are definitely needed.

actually the reason for moving them is because my sub makes them bounce, producing a terrible rattle, it shakes the pin holding them in off, so i figured i'd just mount them right beside the speakers so it won't rattle anymore

Sometimes there is a good reason that "everyone else" does something in the same way....because it is better

If you can't handle criticism then don't post on a public forum.

Nice work!... I left mine behind the original grilles becasue I'm too lazy to do anything else... same reason I still have 4" speakers up front.

I see no problem with the way he did it. Sure its not stealth but hey to each his own.

I am going to do something similar but completely different if that makes sense lol.

I have a very old set of MBquart components (6.5, 4, tweet) and instead of putting in kick panels (doesnt look like I have enough room) am am going to build onto the stock location for the 4 & tweet. I will build it out a little. It will look factory when I am finished (maybe not factory for a Maxima but it will look like the panel came that way). I will give up stealth (yes I do usually like stealth) for the right sound over just placing the speakers wherever I can just to hide them.

I hid all my speakers on my Eclipse (way before I knew much about speaker placement) and I didnt understand what all the fuss was over Quarts. I thought it sounded like crap. I put the same speakers in my blazer with the 6 in the door and the 4 and tweet in kickpanels and then I understood. It sounded amazing that way.

so no my speakers will not be completely stealth but they will not be flashy either (plain black cloth grill will go over the speaker enclosures etc.).

awsm66, do you think mine are too flashy?? i'm wanting to put tint on my window to prevent people from being able to just look in and see them, plus next month i'm installing a viper security system, so hopefully i'll be alright, thanks for the compliments guys, oh, anyone want those steel plates like i have?? its easy once you have that, about 30 minutes and they'll be in, anyone interested pm me and ill give you the details

first off the guy who said NOT first is a turd!
second, you asked for comments on a public forum, you didnt ask for praise, just comments in general, the reason people said what they did is because thats what they like. You can do what you want cuz youre a grown asz man. I know what a pain it is to get all that stuff hooked up, its tedious work, so nice job.

everyone is just saying that it would look cleaner with the bose grilles, if you can make it cleaner then sweet, do it. but it looks a lil ghetto. congrats on the work though.

btw, ive seen some after market 6x9 girlles fit sorta nice in the front there. just a thought.

its not entirely done though, we're going to go back and try and make it smother, try and make it look a little more stock in the front, the back is as good as it gets, well except for the grilles we gotta put back on once it stops raining and freezing everything

yea, i couldn't find a way to hide them, so i just figured that was the best thing to do, plus we were out in 15 degree weather that day, kinda rushing, i might try to find a better way to do it once it gets back up to about 60

Is the wiring everyone is talking about the one going from the door to the dash? Anyways, I personally think the front speakers look pretty damn good, they seem clean from the pics. The rears could use a grille over them though.

as i said up there, i'll be putting the grille back on in a day or two, i have it off cause i'm fixin to move the tweeters because it rattles when my subs hit, once i get the tweeters moved (which will prolly mount right beside them or somethign) i'll put the grille back on and update the pics

I think its cool that your dad is interested in helping you. My dad thinks audios a waste of money. However you're 17 and in high school and college theres a good chance you'll get stuff stolen especially if its hanging out there like that.

You asked for peoples opinions, people gave them.

Word of advice, dont take what people say it personally. People voice their opinions here, you can decide to take it with a grain of salt or not.
