Battery Draw when car is off...

hola!

I have had a problem the last several months where if I left my car sitting for more than three or four days, there would be substantial battery draw and my car wouldn't start. I finally went out and bought a multimeter to see what the problem was, and I was only drawing ~220mA through the BCM and the audio. I just want to know if this is it, b/c 220mA seems to be too little to drain a battery(about 5A per day). So I'm just wondering if this is too little, and if so, what else it could be that kills my car?(Bursts of power?)

On average the draw on a vehicle should be less than 50ma . Now that not with aftermarket things. Most alarms draw around 20ma ( except cliffords around 30 - 40 ma). Your gonna have to get the wiring digram for the BCM and disconnect items one at a time to find out which item is causing the draw. With a 220ma draw your battery should last about 3 or 4 days without starting.

Thanks for the reply!

I disconnected the audio(130mA) and the BCM(80mA) fuses for now, so I guess I have to go in further? Where can I find the wiring diagrams for these, and are there any other supplies I will need other than the multimeter? Thanks!

Check out this thread on the exact same issue:

I'm in the same boat. Note the hood switch apparently draws some current so make sure it is pressed down.
