Bad 2k3 MAF replacement

Anyone have a writeup on how to replace the 2k3 MAF sensor with a 2k1 sensor and how to plug the air temperature sensor onto the stock 2k3 MAF housing (DaveB mentioned something about the temperature sensor). Anyone done this sucessfully?

any help? I searched and didnt find it. but did run into another question...blackbirdvq mentioned that the ecu needs to be recalibrated after the new maf install. Are 2k1 maf sensor compatible w/ 2k3's?

First of all, Nissan has a new part number for the 2k1 MAF's and have discontinued production of the old 2k1 MAF's that worked on the 2k2-2k3 with the air temp wire transfer. Make sure you get the right one. If you get the right one, just transfer the air temp wire, and reset your ECU.

Here is the link I was looking for. It explains exactly what you need, to include part numbers, pics, etc.

thanks...exactly what i wanted. I went to AutoZone and it shows no codes but the dealer did mention back then that the MAF is bad and needed to be replaced.

maf done

Got the 2k1 maf from daveB today...and installed...oh woah! All my hi-end power is back and it revs like a real vq35 again. I was amazed. The original 2k3 (AM600) wasnt blown, i guess it was partly bad. One concern for though, the transfer of the little temperature wire (thermister). It was soo tightly assembled on the stock 2k3 maf i had to cut a part of the wire the get it out and i was not able to run the wire to the bottom support on the 2k1 maf...so basically the thermister is only held by the two clips...is it strong enough? Will it loosen and get eaten by the engine over time? I used pliers and i squeezed as tight as i can. I'm a little worried on that. Studman? Jime? Anyone?

Someone soldered the thermister to the MAF. Check the link in my prior post.
