Jet Chip ECM Recalibration Kit

Hello everyone, I am new to the this board but not to Nissan's. I have a 90 300ZX TT Stage 3 and a newly aquired 2003 Maxima GLE. I have a few questions.
(1) I bought my Maxiam at a dealer and paid $17675 OTD w/17k miles w/navi
Is that agood deal?

(2)Is the Jet chip ECM Recalibration Kit worth buying. Does anybody have any experiences with this chip?

Thanks for any info..

See ya

1. yes sounds like a good deal
2. no, don't waste your money. It is widely known here to be a waste of money.

Welcome to the org GusMaxGLE . Anyway, everybody has there own opinions about Jet Chip, and most people here would quote that it sucks, but nobody even tried it(where the dyno charts)???

Personal if I was you, I said do all the bolt-on first, and then go for the TS ecu re-flash(only because it dyno tested). Click here to check the TS website http://www.technosquareinc.com/

BTW The TS ecu also gives a new redline of 7200rpm, but you have to shift it yourself!!!!

Jet is waste of money. Go for TS if ECU is a must for you.

$17650 out the door with all those options sounds too good to be true, especially with 17K miles. Did you run a Carfax on it?

Ghase-show me the dyno graph of a 02-03 maxima with the TS ECU flash. I have yet to see one.

I would but I don't have the search option. I think krmaxima was one of the first to do a dyno with his auto, with a 12 hp gain. I'll find the trend later!!

Yep, I ran a carfax and nothing came up. I even took it to my friends autobody shop and he said there was no body work done. They did get a good trade in(1999 Toyota Solara 4cyl.)@ $8700, so they will make a few bucks on that.

I guess I won't be going with the Jet chip since I'm looking at getting a gain of 50hp. Time to start looking at some nitrous kits or a Turbo kit.

Thanks for the help......saved me some dough for sure!

Taking it to a body shop was the best thing you could have done. A Carfax is almost useless when it comes to finding damage reports. I've seen many times where accidents and extensive damage does not show on a Carfax report. Buyer beware still applies even with a Carfax report.
