stalling - part 2
stalling - part 2
ok i dont know if this will be posted twice, so sorry if it is:
I finally got the chance to check codes today and here is what I got:
In mode 3: First I got 2 Red 3 Green, then I got 4 Red 2 Green. Correct me if im wrong but thats code 23 and 42, right?
I checked the other modes but the only one which I got a light was in mode one and it was a steady red.(Not sure if this is helpful or useless)
Code 23 is - Idle switch (throttle valve switch) signal circuit open
and Code 42 is - throttle sensor circuit
Again Correct me if im wrong. I was wondering what that means?
Something else I would like to mention about when my car does this, is that if the temperature is any where from below freezing to about 40 F, the car seems to run/idle fine. But once it gets kinda nice, say above 50 F is when I start having the problem.
Today when it was doing it, I put the car in Neutral and accelerated to what normal idle speed should be. During this it was still running really rough. Occasionally smoothing out and jumping to above 1200 RPM. Also I noticed a stong fuel smell and through the rearview mirror I noticed smoke coming out the tailpipe.(It was similar to the color that a jet engine makes when you see its exhaust infront of the sun)
What do you guys think? Also I dont know when my O2 Sensor was last replaced, should I consider changing it?

I don't know about the O2 sensor just yet....I would try fixing why the code is being thrown. Sounds like you could use a new TPS. I would change this then go from there.
