hey man~
well let me tell you it is a ***** and a half to get through the firewall. i ran power thought it, and i could not find any factory holes i could use. well there are some there, but there is really no way to reach them.
i drilled through, and put a plastic rivet in to protect it from rubbing. if it shaves throught the power wire you will have a blown fuse or even a fire!!! so be careful. another thing, is that the firewall is made of two separate peices of sheet metal that are fitted next to each other. so you need to find a gromet long enough to fit through the hole.
hope this helps..

Under your steering wheel if you look at the upper left hand corner you can feel for this foam like cover. If you peel it back you will see metal.

I drilled through the middle of that.

I ran a power thru the firewall which was a pain in the @ss. If you look under the steering wheel to you upper left, you'll see a diamond cut out in the carpet. I drilled into that area and it was a breeze finding the wire in the engine bay.

This is the same as i do. If your auto, then your in luck. That is where you would run the wire through. I personally dont know any gromets that can be used. If you drilled where mentioned above, it will come out right next to your brake booster. The "foam" part that DC is taking about is where you want to drill. That is there b/c that is where your clutch assem woulb be if your a 5 speed. Since we are auto, there is plenty of room and that would be an ideal location. BTW, i am running 4ga wire. And dont forget to buy a bromet so you dont chaff the wire.

I ran wire right along the hood release wire. Didn't have to do any drilling at all. The wire comes up thru a hole behind the front left wheel, under the hood.
