Problem with chrome door handles

I installed chrome door handles a while back..anybody have trouble keeping the door trim ring down all the way with the chrome handles in. They fit perfect the the trim ring doesn't seem to stay down. Any suggestions...

thanx

Do you mean the trim piece that's right behind the handles that you have to pop off to get to the handles?

If so, you may have broken one or two of the clips when pulling them off. Otherwise, all you may have to do is just push them in real hard until they clip in... I know when I installed my handles I had to push that cover in pretty hard until it clipped in.

i had this problem for a little while but did as the others said, just keep pushing hard and eventually it'll snap in place.

Thanx...

It almost seems like the door handles make the trim stick out too far where it won't catch the back notch...thought maybe there was a way to mod the handles to make them a little thinner so the trim would sit in there...it will catch the notch but just pops back off...the two front notches catch fine..its the rear notch on all four doors that dosen't want to stay down.
