what would be a good price to negotiate with for an '05 SE with the driver prefered package?

 

MSRP is about $32,580 for DPP and a Power Sunroof. Invoice is about $29,780...With the $1000 rebate you should try to be somewhere between $28,500 and $29,000. Good luck!

I got my '04 SE w/DDP and power sunroof for $28,178.

 

I got my "04 SL w/DDP, power sunroof, stability control and traction control for $29,000 out the door, including tax.

 

Before you set foot inside a dealership I recommend using the internet first. Some dealers are posting their "internet prices" on their web sites. These prices generally include the current rebates. I searched numerous web sites and found the best price in the local area. I then contacted that dealer's internet manager and asked for all of the details such as equipment, fees, etc. The one I contacted even sent me an email confirming what I was told over the phone. The next step is to find the dealer you want to buy from and show them the best price you've been quoted to date. They may be able to beat that deal. This is exactly what happened in my case. The dealer I went to gave me a price that was a few hundred less. There was very little negotiation involved--quite painless. As an example only go to this site www.sterlingnissan.com. This is Brown's Sterling Nissan in Virginia and they post their internet prices. Another is VOB Nissan in Maryland. If I had gone to the dealership without this pricing in hand I probably would have expected to be dealing from the invoice price plus. My deal ended up being well below invoice with the rebate.

 

Research out the wazoo first. I got $28450 I think...with rebate. Came out to right at $30k with fees. SL will be less expensive after you add all the equipment on the SE. Shop and e-mail dealerships. They will be at your feet. Especially between now and March 2nd since they are trying to make their sales # for the month. I am an Automotive Marketing Management major and worked in a lot of dealerships. Their scurry at the end of the month is the same no matter where you go. Also, look at edmunds and kbb.com. Have fun--because it can be.

 

Does anyone have any idea on which you would get a better deal.....VPP Discount or Internet Sales price? When I got my 2k2, I didn't do as much shopping as I should have...I just used the VPP. Last time I checked VPP was approx 2.8% below dealer invoice. I know I'm not a good negotiator, so I went that route as it was pretty cut and dry. They just show you the invoice and deduct the percentage.
