Do Xenons really improve lighting?
From my knowledge of HID's, yeah they give you a greater range of vision during night time driving, but the catch is (from what i read) you will lose the ability to use your high beams. Personally I wouldn't want HID's on my car, hence I got the blue white xenon bulbs instead. If anyone has any other comments, I'd really love to read em!
The aim would be off though. Tje reflection surface on the back of the headlight housing was designed for halogen 9004 bulbs, and changing to HIDs would throw off the beam pattern. I would assume that the field of luminance would be reduced and glare into other drivers eyes would be common. And like mechanic said, you would lose your highbeams.
I think he means those blue bulbs that say ther are like hid's, well in that case they are POS. They look cool but you cant see with them. Stick to the fac. You can get the higher wattage bulbs and those would be a big change. But with those you have to get the wire harness so it can handle the power. Its like 50 for the harness and another 50 for bulbs. Some people saw piaa's are good and some people say the apc bulbs are good. The choice is up to u.
All that was stated above is true >>

Also, what makes the headlights so bad in our car is the beam pattern, not so much the bulbs. Changing to a better bulb helps a bit, but the main problem is the 9004 reflector. I've put better bulbs in mine, 1st Narvas, now Wagner 9004s. I also adjusted the beam pattern. That helped. And no, no one is flashing their headlights at me because I aimed them right into eveyone's faces. I pushed the beam up just far enough not to blind everyone.
