brake dust burned into rim...wat to do?

my friends bmw contours have brake dust burned into the clearcoat. i tried browsing around and dint really see a thread that was on this stuff..i tried using many wheel cleaners and clay bars but it still doesnt come out. wat should i do to try getting it out? i am thinking about either sanding it down to the paint and clearcoating again, aircraft stripping the paint and repainting it, or stripping the paint and sanding it to a smooth finish and use aluminum/alloy polish..thx in advanced for your input

you should slow down.. no reason to drive REAL fast and brake REAL hard...

talk to a paint shop and ask them what they would do..

Hmm how about a very fine abrasive compound. I have some Black Magic Wheel/Rim Cleaner. It looks like a very runny white liquid. Applied with a tooth brush you'd be suprised at what it will get out that regular wheel cleaning solutions can't.

Take a look around for that, or similar products. It's probably worth the $5 to try that before you do anything more dramatic like sand the clearcoat off. You've triend non-abrasive cleaners. Now its time to move up a notch and see if the next step will work. You'd do the same for scratches in the clearcoat of the paint. Move up the ladder till you find something that works.

If you can get the brake dust out...make sure you seal up the rim with a few layers of whatever wax you have onhand. It will make the process much easier next time.
