Stock Rims are scratched from SOS Pad
My little brother was helping me clean my car and when I came out he had scrube the rims with an sos pad - The rims are the stocked one... He had scratched the drivers side 2 up pretty well...
Is there any way to get those scratches out? How much will 2 stock rims cost?

They are just rims dont kill your brother.. Use mother aluminum polisher see if it takes away the scratches. Go on ebay see if you can find some stock ones. Go to the for sale section of this website post that you need a set of stock rims. Either way s h i t happens and they were bound to get scratches on them anyway.

The rims have a clear coat just like your paint has.
Compound the sctarches out and then polish them up nice.
You might have to wet sand with 2000 or 3000 to get some heavy scratches out before you compound.

97 98 99 se wheels are the same im sure they are the same 4th gen wheels for all. Ever hear of pepboys, autozone, hardware store , auto parts store ect... they all supply compound just go there and ask.....
use the SOS pad on all the other rims and then they'll match.
You could try to use rubbing compound. Get a bottle of 3M coarse rubbing compound and a bottle of 3M fine rubbing compound.
If you have access to a buffer (not an orbital buffer but one that spins fast) it might be better.
First use the coarse rubbing compound and lightly rub the wheels. let the compound do the work. Once its semi smooth, use the fine rubbing compound. Then you can either apply a good wax or polish, or you can take some paint thinner, clean the rim, and spray clear coat over it.
I would just pay $100 and get the rim refinished. but that's me.

Used Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound and rubbed with a cloth and while it took some of it away its still notcieable... Not as noticeable, but noticeable...
PAREDLINE - get the rim refinished? How and where? and will it make the rim look new again? Also is it a 100 a rim>?
