Stock Alarm: Not Arming

Hello guys,

My car's alarm is bone stock....but I just noticed that it's not arming when I press the lock button on my remote. Usually the led Security light by the steering wheel will light to 30 seconds before blinking periodically, and this was the case before I replaced my alternator.

Now, when I press the door lock button, the light will blink and when I open my door (I locked myself from the inside on purpose) there is no horn sounding etc.

Perhaps I blew a fuse or something......anybody could help me on this? This is really weird.......

Keyless entry...yes, but it also has a stock alarm. IMO, the battery on the remote should not affect it....since it's transmitting the correct signal (open door, door lock, open trunk, etc.).

crockpot: Yes, I did. I actually waited inside the car for a minute. You know the led will stay on for 30 seconds right? Mine kept on blinking during this period.
