Why
Why
Well it is a balmy 24 degrees here in chicago, and nothing is more fun than working on a car in this weather. Now to the why. Why does it take longer to change the damn brake pads then it did to replace the axle shafts. I only did the fronts and that took me like 2 hours where the shafts took me a little over an hour. (oh yeah and i tried to lift the car from the frame, um yeah not a good idea. those damn things are rusted threw.) any ways hopefully nothing else needs to be replaced before warmer weather comes around.
It should only take about 20 minutes, tops, per side, on either front OR rear, to replace the pads...
I pulled, rebuilt, and replaced BOTH of my front calipers , plus the pads, AND rotors in about an hour and a half...
the rears were another story, as they are a bloody nightmare for reassembly during a rebuild...
