How long did your PIAA Fog Bulbs last?

One of my Super Plasmas burnt out after just slightly over 1 year of use. This is less than convenient timing since they're warranted for 1 year. I'm trying to decide if these are worth a repurchase. ~$60 yr. for fog bulbs isn't worth it to me if this is typical. So let's find out.

No shocker here - Time for a poll.

5+ pairs I've owned, only 1 bulb died within 6 months. Some lasted me well over 2 years and others still working

i had my original set for about 6 months but they died in the accident i had. the ones i put in after the accident had one bulb burn out in about 2 months. since then the current ones have been working for 3 months. i sent the first pair i bought after my accident to get replaced under the warranty. i have yet to hear about them.

if the current set doesn't last atleast a year or piaa doesnt replace my other set i'm probably going to go with HIDs when these burn out.

btw: i got the idea for the super plasmas from your site along with the how-to. just wanted to thank you for that. i love the way they look.

house,

I emailed you the other day about the Plasmas. Thanks for the advice. Only my dumbass didn't take it. The NOPI store was closed so I went and brought Sylvania Silverstar H3's. Not even close to my factory HIDs. Gonna take them out and return for a pair of Plasmas. But with the help of your how-to section, it was a good learning experience. Now it shouldn't be as hard installing the Plasmas second time around. Now that I know what I'm doing. Thanks.

that's the other thing which throws off the whole poll. the people who say their fog lights last a long time -- do they keep them on with the headlights or only when it's foggy/raining?

i use mine with the headlights all the time.

Have the ExtremeWhites... the H3s in the fogs have lasted a LONG time, worried they're gonna go soon, ***** to replace! can't say as much for the H4s in the heads, crapperz burn out consistantly every 10 months.

~~Only use the fogs when it's raining, snowing or just wet, or oh ya, foggy

Good point on the usage. Wish I'd thought of that. I ran mine w/ the headlights but my car is very low milage. Just over one year isn't acceptable in my book.

My SuperPlasmas are going on about 2.5 months of usage. They look great, yes, but thanks to them (or maybe not?) my passenger fog light glass is cracked. MaximaPolak said this happens because the SuperPlasmas get too hot. It's not really noticeable when looking at the car, but it does bother me that I now got a cracked fog light on top of all the other little things.

Yeah, sorry, guess I shouldn't have polled... I'm pretty sure Irish used em for all the months he had em before he sold em to me though...

Housecor, maybe you can add a separate question to the poll... asking people how long their fogs are really on... ie with headlights, sometimes, never...

Yea, I know what you mean. I had the super plasma's for about a little over a year and one went out. Sucks...

Decided to look around for any replacements and found a good candidate so far....Luminics H3 Foglights bulbs

These match the HID's really close and they are really bright at night(I aimed them higher too)... and only $24.95 per pair...good deal.....

Customer service was good...no problems with me.

Oh, also...

1 YEAR UNCONDITIONAL GUARANTEE!
FREE EXPRESS SHIPPING ON ALL ORDERS!

Look into it...

Wish I could, but polls can't be edited. Oh well, bring on the votes anyway.

Mine are always on with my headlights. I purchased them used from Kloogy actually and that was over a year ago, so ~1.5+ years.

My Super Plasma GTX's have cracked both my lenses with their extreme heat. I wish I had known that before I bought them. The word is out now though.

I've had my extreme whites for a bit over 2 years now. The passenger side lense has been cracked for over 1 year.
