Just finshed installing WSP SuperFlo Y Pipe and GREDDY SP2

Well, I am very surprised that i didn't have much of an issue at all with the install, taking into consideration that I did everything out in my driveway in 3 hours. I took the car for a test drive, and I am very very happy with the sound, and the noticable increase in hp. I will have the car back in the shop on Wed to check on everything and make sure that all of my nuts and bolts are still torqued down to where they need to be. When I get it back in the shop, I will at least get some pics on here for you guys. I ended up replacing everything from the Headers back. I went with the superflo from warpspeed, I bought a new cat converter from them also, which was 100 bucks, and then the complete cat back from Greddy. I will have more time tonight to get it out on the highway and see how everything sounds. So far, no problems at all though with either installation or the sound.

I'm guessing he plugged it with the O2 sensor.

I actually didn't need to plug the hole. With the cali spec cars, there is originally an adapter that the o2 sensor goes to, but with the new cat back, that adapter is no longer needed, so I can use the hole on the b pipe, which means no plugging.

How much did the whole thing cost you??? I know you installed it yourself on your driveway so just the cost of the exhaust components.

Sound clips may be a while, because right now I only have a digital camera. All in all, it costed me around 850 dollars to replace everything from the headers back. 200 or so for the y pipe, 550 for the cat back including the shipping, and then another 100 for the cat converter. All of the hardware as far as new nuts and gaskets were included, so that saved me a few bucks. Like I had stated earlier, for those who own cars with that extension piece between the cat converter and the b pipe, you will no longer need that with the greddy sp2 cat back. Unfortunately I had already ordered that, so I am going to be stuck with it.

I have never had the car on a dyno, so I can't give you an exact gain in hp. To say that it is noticable is an understatement. The entire exhaust was corroded and ready to fall apart, so instead of going stock, I went with the new and improved.

Either way if you get the SP2, you wont have any problems. If you have the adapter right now, you wont need it any more after the SP2. If you dont have it, then you still won't need it. The issue that people were running into, was that some people had a cat converter with a bung for the 02 sensor, along with a bung on the B Pipe, but only one O2 sensor, so one of the two had to be plugged. Hopefully that clears it up for you. This is a link that will show you exactly what the adapter is that I am talking about.

Well, I just drove the car to and from work on the highway, and my CEL came on. I ended up getting 0150 which is the code for the front o2 sensor. I don't know if I may have gotten some anti seize on the tip of the sensor when i was installing it, or possibly damaged the wire when i was re installing it. Either way, I am going to give it another day after resetting the ECU and see if the code still keeps coming up. Other than that, I love the new exhaust system. Still have no complaints about the superflo pipe, or any noise related issues with it. Even if I have to replace the front o2 sensor, it was still a lot cheaper to do it myself then to pay a shop to install it. I'll have pics on here Wed night for you guys.

I remembered when the O2 sensors on both manifolds went out 1 week after purchasing my Maxima from a private party. I was still living in Vegas then and it was the middle of summer which was around 110 degrees average temp. There's no way in hell I was going to work under my car and replace the sensors myself. Due to special circumstances, I contacted the previous owner about it and he shared the expenses with me towards the new O2 sensors + labor. I can only imagine what could go wrong while replacing those sensors as they could easibly be seized solid on there which would make it impossible for me to remove them w/o a blow torch or something. A month later, the 3rd sensor went out. I replaced that one myself so everthing is good, all I need is a good exhaust setup.

Aluminum B-pipe vs. Stainless steel.. nope no comparison... Well since you live in Tampa than that shouldnt be a concern (no salt and snow) SP2 sounds better by the way. Plus its hard to find the WS now... Get with the new, out with the old...

And besides that I have the SP2 so thats why it ownzzz.... LOL

Ok, well it's Thursday, and i finally have a vid, but I have no clue where or how to post it. The CEL that i was getting earlier in the week for the front O2 sensor has gone away. I checked the sensor last night when i was at the shop, and there was a big glob of antisieze on it from reinstalling it in the new Y pipe. I cleaned it off, re installed it, and have been good to go ever since. If anyone can help me out with posting the vid, I can get it on here soon.

The SP1 had an Aluminized Steel B pipe; It was not made of aluminum.

Aluminized means: Carbon steel inside (very corrosive) with a thin layer of Aluminum outside. That how they get the name Aluminized => Aluminum

Stainless is relativly non-corrosive.
