POTS MOD from zx2's?

ok, so a friend of mine has a ford escort zx2, and he did this mod to his car. we got to thinking and wondered if it would work on the maxima. this mod actually did pull him some gains as well. any input or ideas on something similar? or at least tell me why it wouldnt work. thanks.

Our IAT doesn't have anything to do with engine control or anything like that so it won't work. You can make it think it's -45* and it won't make nay difference. Hell, I've had mine mounted in the grill and it made no difference. At 100mph even in the summer the air hitting the car is much colder than that what it is at a standstill.
