Need Pics of Rear Springs...

I had the shop install a Maxspeed/GR-2 set-up while my car was getting the front end converted to 97 spec and when I got it back I was checking out the rear springs while the car was parked and noticed that the top spring coils were touching each other. Seems to ride fine, but just doesn't look right. Anyone have pics to compare?

The top coils are supposed to touch.

It's normal.

Thanks for the replies. I got home late last night, so no pics yet. I'll try to take some tonight.

mzmtg: What springs do you have? Anyone else notice this?

no, I just clamped it enough to keep it secure during assembly... I put a rag in there as well so the paint would not get messed up.

The springs are 1.5 inch drop custom enterprise... I love them, they ride absolutely great... best bang for the buck...

Trust me... I would not clamp it hard enough to cause any damage... it was my main concern.

I keep the fronts on 3 and the rears on 4... this has worked wonders on the horrible understeer that our cars suffer from stock... the steering is now tight and feels alot more precise... At first I tried 5 all the way around, which was way too stiff... 4 all the way around was a little to stiff for the fronts so I dropped them to 3.

What about you?

Does anybody use that zip tie to secure the rubber cover around the strut?

I took some pics. Can someone please host them for me or let me know how to put them up?

Thanks for all the pics, but do the top springs touch when compressed? (ie. when your car is sitting on the ground with the wheel on) It also looks like my right side spring wasn't seated right and I'm definitely going to take it back to the shop now. Regardless, the top spring coils still touch on both sides and I'd like to confirm, so I can let the shop know if something else is wrong.

Thanks vsamoylov!

Right side that's not seated right, but you can see the compressed top coils. The other side is as compressed, but seated properly.
